hey i have 2 12" polk momo subs in a box made just for them with a big ass port down the middle and i was wondering if i sealed that port up with a peice of wood or put the subs in a unported box if they would pound harder because my jl 500/1 amp should pound them harder then what they are hitting now so i dunno what to do cause the bass boost is up and the input sens level is up on the amp, thanks

a ported box should get louder than a sealed box if it is built correctly

What exactly is "as loud as they should be"? How are you judging that?

BTW: I would suggest turning down the bass boost and gain before you blow something up.

yeah your on a quick road to destroying yoru subs, go back to the audio store and ask them what a gain is.

if its not loud enough to you, go back to the installer, u are the customer. they should fix the problem
