I am tryin to keep my car done as clean as possible here. So I wanna do the speakers right as well. I wanna run infinity highs in it. for the fronts I want the REF 6402CFP plate speakers and for the rears I want their Ref 9603I 3 ways. I will be runnin them off a Sony CDX-F7810 head unit. do you think that it will be clean enough till I get money to amplify them?

yes it will sound very clean but if you want the best possible sound you should run a component set in the front. You should be ok with those rears. Are you going to add subs?

04silvercavy is right. use a 6.5" infinity kappa perfect component set, im going to use a kickpanel for them. they will sound much better than refrences.

you may want to find a set of 2 way or even 1 way speakers for the rear if you are running subs like that becaue the vibration and air movement from the subs can sometimes move the cones on multi way speakers and create a lot of distortion.

Ive had ref series for about 2 years now and am not real happy.

I cant hear the front 4x6s unless I fade way up to the front then the total sound is not very loud at all.

THe 6x9s are good I guess for my needs. I think I would be happy if I switch to components up front.

your not gonna hear much from the fronts unless you amp them. everyone concentrates on bass, but if you up the bass, you have to up your highs too.

Yeah I guess Im going to have to amp my fronts whenever I decide to upgrade to componants. Ive never felt a need to amp them in the past. Of course ive always had better speakers.

But im going to be adding my 12 in the rear soon so I guess I should look into it.

i have the same infinity's front and rear with 2 reference 10's. its all ran off a 5 channel amp though. it sounds real nice although everyones right in recommending components. mine are coming out soon and replacing with the boston 3 way components. just waiting for kick panels.

I have reference 6.5 2 ways right now I just wanna go the easier route and not make the adapter for them to fit in. I will amplify in the future for sure but for now I wanna run off the head unit.

u should always run am amp to your highs no matter how much bass you have, just the difrence in sound quality is worth it. no to mention your speakers will be able to play lower more cleanly.
