dumb newb question: how do you isolate stuff so it's the only thing colored like that? I've tried the way I think it would work, but it doesn't. Thanks

duplicate orig layer
desaturate top layer
grab eraser or lasso tool and get rid of the areas u want to have color. when u delete the areas u want to have color from the desaturated layer it will let the original layer with full color show through in exactly the spot you chose.

, I was taking pics for a write up on the install and found that pic to be interesting. Most items around the rockers were dull and grey and caught my eye a bit, So i then made everything around them black and white.
