Nice. For future reference, mind telling us all how you modified it for this? I used a Grand Am cable. I'm not sure if anyone else has used a stock J cable.

BTW, nice turbo. HOWEVER, i think it looks like it might be a tad bit on the big side.

BTW, that turbo is WAY too small, must go bigger!

Damn Looks awesome!! You possibly have a diagram for the wiring? I have an 04 cavy(same color) and Im debating an engine swap. Overall, how would you say the swap was? Easy- Hard,?

I used the stock J cable, All I did was grind maybe an eighth of an inch of the top and bottom of the hole in the bracket that the cable slides into. If that makes sense to you. If not Ill try and find my camera for a picture.

Ya I modified the bracket by cutting about 3/4" off the top and off the bottom to move the bracket closer to the throttle body. Its hard to explain so ill take some pics today of it. But it worked well. I bought the plate today for the lower motor mount ill be fabbing that up tonight if were in the shop.

Nice job on the throttle bracket.

For the lower, when you say "plate", are you using the mount from a Grand Prix/Monte, etc and welding a yoke onto it?

The car is coming along very nice. Hows the wiring going?

Here is mine, i used to have it in a diff thread but I removed it from photo bucket.
I havent had any problems with breaking the oil pan, its all 1/8 plate, i just stuck it in a sheet metal break and bent er up, 2 pieces, and welded them together.

I wish I had my mount like that. I'd modify mine, but I don't have a welder. And work won't let me take it in and use theirs.

Before you call it done nate, some one on here made a very similar mount , i think it ended up breaking the oil pan. I dont remember who though, look in the v6 threads for a picture of the broken pan. I think you need to go up to the lower block bolts like mine, with either round bar or flat bar to take the stress off of the pan.

its RSF98 that had the broken pan, page 39 of v6 progress. you might want to ask him what actually went wrong.

Make sure you have a medium strength threadlocker on those motor mount bolts so they don't start backing out. I belive RSF98's pan broke because the bolts started backing out, which puts too much stress on the rear bolt. I looked at one point and it looks like mine may be backing out a bit but I have not broken the pan yet that I know of. It's just cold out right now, so I really don't go out and do @!#$ about it. Since I have another vehicle to drive, it's not a big deal.

Though, I am still interested in finding an additional mount to use to help reduce engine movement.

I used a hammer to make my stock throttle cable fit. lol. Can't even tell and it took 2 min.

SHOoff I have your solution to the other mount. Im going to make it tomorrow and show you guys. Should keep the motor from moving like at all.

So I dont know if Joe did this the same way I did but the plate that he had with the 2 bolts in it for the upper mount, I inserted mine into the frame rail then tacked it in place so it wouldnt fall down. This way it gives some good stability with the 3/16 plate and the frame of the car being tied together.

It's pretty much designed off the GA mount. Makes better sense since there is more attachment to the block rather than relying mostly on the pan. I'm using a modified GA mount on mine. I still need to get the yoke welded back on, and then paint it up.

He posted in the sticky as well. Basicly he had a bolt come loose, so the remaining one ended up pulling out part of the pan. Recommend using thread locker on it.
