So I have started to disect the wiring harness. Ran into a few things and had some questions.
^^^ I have labeled all the wires that came off the Lt Grey connector except these ones. The pinout doesnt have these ones listed. A3 (PPL), B2(YEL) and B11(PPL) Im also not seeing the Crank voltage wire. It says it should be at A11(YEL) And theres nothing there.
^^^Also All these wires were just cut off of something, I have no idea what they went to. Tracing them back to the PCM plugs soon.
Im going to cut the wire loom off this week so I can get a better look at things.

Ew. Glad I didnt have to go through that
Good luck. Im not sure what those wires are, but look in the Stick post about the V6 swap Kardin has posted the connector diagrams if you need them. I would sleep with them for a few nights and get to know them very well.
Have fun!!
For some reason something is telling me that cut off section went to the underhood fuse box. I did my harness while it was pluged into the engine for a better "visual" of where some wires went. Then only 2 yellow and purple wired i know of are for the crank sensor which goes to the ignition module and the VSS.

Ok, the crank wire you cam leave alone. The wiring is already in place in the J harness (wiring that goes to the starter).
As for the year, found it under the 2k3 harness ID:
A3
PPL/WHT
Starter Relay Coil Supply Voltage
B2
YEL
Starter Relay Coil Control
B11
PPL
Crank Voltage
Since these are all starter related, ignore them and use the stock J stuff.
The cut out part is brake related. That I know for sure. Ignore it, not needed at all.

Thanks Kardain. I was really worried for a minute about those wires that are just cut off. Thought I was mising something important.

He's right. The clutch interlock switch runs completely independent of the ECU. So it'll be just the same as before as long as you leave the J-body wiring in place. If you dont step on the clutch, it wont start.
That plug is from the LA1 harness at the underhood fuse panel...
won't plug into anything on the J. The wires are all that are needed. Cutting that close to the plug gives that much more to splice
Here's a pic of the same plug in my car, post splicing:
Last wires that are still hooked up are starter related, which I still need to cut off and tuck away.
WOW ^^^^^ You really had me worried for a minute haha I was like I KNOW I WAS SUPPOSED TO CUT THOSE WIRES wow im ok now haha

Theres like 6 or more ignition 1 wires that are pink. What did you splice those into? I really didnt see anything on the C-100 connector for that.

The pink wires has to be tapped into an power source when the key is in run/start. Not too sure what u mean by 6 ignition wires.

are they for the injectors?? if so, I think I routed mine to the stock j fuse box fuel relay circuit (it's been awhile- plus I sold it)
Thats what there labeled as on the wire diagram "Ignition 1"

A fine spaghetti mess.
It may make no difference to you at this point but I used the stock Grand am fuse box, and just plugged it in. The only wires that had to be spliced were the main 12v feeds, grounds, and a few others, no more than 25.
Dont mess around, solder and heat shrink every splice. If you moved power feeds, grounds or changed wire colors write it down....You will thank me later.

Nate, what transmission are you going with?
The stock 5 spd. I rebuilt it at my school with new syncros and new seals. All the gears looked good still I dont know the code for it lol.

I'm guessing since it's a 97 2.2 that its an Isuzu MK7
Ahh, that looks familiar... my living room looked like that for three weeks, much to the wife's chagrin...
That plug that's cut off looks like the ABS plug.... judging by the twisted pair of wires. That's the only place I've seen twisted wires on the J-car. If there's one thick red wire (power) and two thick black ones (grounds), and a hard black plastic vent tube... then that's it for sure.
Sorry I'm a little late
