Any chance at still getting in this testing run?

x2 my only concern is the length of the adjuster on the front. Will it hit the hood?
It should fit in the pocket rather easily.
don't forget, the plates mount from underneath so subtract about 1/2" - 3/4" for mounting depth.
John, I'm anxious. next week can't come soon enough!
John, I should have another 75 heading your way soon. Times have been kinda tough here.

cool, in this economy, i understand completely.
I'm out of this trial. I found a brand new set of Pro Street Coilovers for half the price.
here i thought all the spots were taken.. I'm in. PM is on its way John.
Tyler, your kit will be on your doorstep thursday/friday, so your install this weekend is a go.
Also, they have 2 kits left in stock, so the next 2 people to pay in full will get theirs shipped to me instantly.
I really have to say, these kits look fuggin sweet. i cant wait to get back some install pics and feedback on the kits. I did open up the box to take a peak, and they are just amazing. no detail overlooked. The only negative info I have to post, is the T-shirts arent done yet, so your "swag bag" is a little light. Ill be sure to send you one when they come in.
do they have kits for cougaR OR THUNDERBIRDS
Someone install these already!

That's exactly the insight I am looking for on these.
Take lots of pics.....and send them to me, by the looks though install will go fast and smooth, especially with that scaled suspension.

ok... sad to say but ive noticed a few things im not a fan of...
the camber plate alan head bolts hit the strut tower in the center, not all of them but it just depends on how you have it adjusted. a 1/4 inch spacer above the entire mount would cure this issue. there are plenty of threads with the studs to make this work.
its my opinion this is the reason tyler snapped off one of the studs when screwing down the nut, he says its not but i think its why.
ok, next.. why dont they come with rear mounts? i would think for this kind of money a rear mount would be included to make them a completely bolt on deal, but they do not. you also need to drill out the stock mount shaft to make room. just as you would for konis.
and lastly, theres absolutely no instructions with them. why not? i guess your just supposed to know whats going on? for this kind of money instructions should have been included. i realize its not a hard job but come on now, even lamps come with instructions and they tell you to plug it into the wall.
for something as complicated as a suspenion install instructions should be included.
just some of my thoughts... i will have pics of tein ss's, koni yellows with sportlines and these later.
** edit ** also wanting to let it be known the fears of the adjusment knobs hitting the hood are a reality. because they do. but you can just remove them so all is ok here.

will the 1/4" spacer in the front also solve the adjuster fitment issue?

That's kinda sad to see the complete lack of thought and fitment testing involved by STD.
I still hold true to the Tein SS + EDFC > ALL OTHERS
I hope it all works out for you guys.

ok the front camber plates arent as bad as i first explained. i was really irritated that tyler busted a stud off of the front mount and thought it was because of the fitment issue, however... upon removing a front one and then re-installing it i found that it was not the case. the nuts and studs work fine and have enough room to tighten down just fine. the threads on the stud that broke were buggered up a tad thats all. needed to be worked with a little.
fitment is still horrible on the camber plate though. i still believe a 1/4" spacer would work best. and yes pj... to answer your question on if the adjusters would fit the hood if a spacer was used, yes they would. they dont hit it badly, just enough to mark up the paint. but like i said.. remove them and problem solved anyways. there's really no need for them to remain on the strut anyway. i will give the adjusters this.. they blow konis plastic ones out of the water in terms of tuning and just are a better made piece. i was definitely impressed by these.
only things im still pissed about is the lack of rear mounts (easy fix with a visit to oem) and lack of instructions.

I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.
valid points, and I really appreciate the heads up.
I think STD's reasoning for not including rear mounting plates for us is because our rear suspension doesn't have any sort of camber setting or adjustment. Not that its an excuse, but I believe thats why cavaliers don't have an R5 version of their coilover systems available (all the other cars listed have IRS).
I wouldn't just let them off the hook like that since many other companies do come with them. I'd rather consider there kits that much more expensive IMO since you have to go buy what it should have come with in the first place.

Well, thanks to the input given so far, I have sent an email with the concerns given thus far.
A couple quick points that I know the answer to:
As far as the instructions go, they are supposed to be professionally installed by a proffessional shop....therefore instructions would not be necessary.
I believe the rear mounts are not part of the package simple to keep the costs down.
In comparison to other R3 kits made by the company, the Cavalier kits are one of the most affordable.
As for the fitment, sounds like it is so close, it could happen on one car, and not on another......not that that is an excuse, but I am guessing that this did not occur in the factory test fit.
I have sent them an email reguarding the hood clearance, and asked about a rear mount option at least. PJ, I am holding off on ordering your until I get some answers.
So other than those couple points, how did the install go guys? and how were the finished products?
ok, email has been sent to them about the concerns given thus far, we will see what they say, especially about the hood clearance issue.
Keep the comments coming in on them, and i will keep the questions going to them...unless I know the answer 100%.
