BaggedOn20s: I wont preach about not using wipers, becasue I rarely use mine. I wax/rain-x my windshield when I wash the car. I dont even think Ive EVER put new wiper blades on since the car was new. That is a good spot to put the valves. If I wasnt going with auto pilot, I would definately consider that location. It looks like there is quite a bit of room under there. My sub box wont be near that size. I should have plenty of room. It would be nice to have some room left over in case I have to put something small back there.

Most likely I wont have ANY room back there though. With the subs, amps, 2nd battery, tank, 2 480s, and the valves in the well. I might have to order some more neons to light it up back there since theres going to be so much stuff back there.

I am going auto pilot, didn't see any negatives with putting the valves up from can you help me out with that? Is the downfall running more wire to reach the destination?

BaggedOn20s: The Valves for auto pilot are bigger. i dont think there is room under the cowl. look at the pic of Tinkles vavles. the pic is on pg 2. I would like to have my valves as close to the bag as possible but there really isnt any room anywhere to put them, except for the trunk. You could put them behind the front seats, to be a little bit closer. I was thinking of doing that, but I'm still undecided. I won't know anything until I actually get everything. I dont think there is a downfall to running more wire, except its more to hide. lol.

I had existing valves so I purchased the autopilot add on.

shouldn't have a problem plan on installing the auto pilot within the next few weeks.

I wonder what the difference would be if I used regular valves instead of the valves that come with auto pilot? wonder if I could still use the features like auto leveling? that would make it much easier to put the valves closer to the bags. It would also save room in the trunk. I would be able to put the compressors in the tire well instead of the valves.

I got another idea on running my lines under the car. I might be considering gettin some steel tubing to weld to the chassis and run the line through that, for more reliability. I know I'm probably taking this to extremes with safety. I just don't want to bust a line while going down the highway at 60+ mph. even with 1/4" dump it still would not be fun. If I do decide to run the steel tubing then I'll just go with the regular DOT air line.

i know if u buy the diggy kit u would not be able to u normal valves but they do have a kit that u can hook up a diggy kit to the normal valves but it just comes with 4 senors that u put in line of the valves and the computer that comes with that kit plugs into the sensor than u wire up the valves to the computer harness, its on the easy street site and if u look up the manual on there site they'll show u how to hook it up, i was looking into adding this to my air setup instead of the switch box.

Krzy Z: Thx for clearing that up for me. I think I'm still going to go with the ES kit + Auto Pilot. Less electrical connections. Me and electricity dont exactly get along. Ive been shocked a fair amount of times.

I've done that before except I was going 65, and I had 3/8 dump... kind of a rush... drag one corner. Funny thing is, as safe as you are being what done it to me was one old style switch in a 10 switch box it had a wire that kept dumping when trying to air it up.

BaggedOn20s: Thats interesting, good thing I wont be using a switchbox. I'll be using heat shrink on ALL of my wiring. Its easier to keep everything in order and protected. Whatever wires I cant hide, I will wrap it in some sort of loom. Either black, silver or stainless. Granted I wont be kitted or anything (LSS lip kit) but I dont want to risk dragging anything on the ground, unless its a ball hitch or drag block.

Awesome sounds like your going about it the right way. Keep us informed whenever you do your install I may be able to gather some ideas to clean mine up, I will also do the same for you I will be installing most of my wiring shortly i'll try to snap some pictures if I don't get caught up in the moment.

BaggedOn20s : I really want my install to be as clean as possilbe. And as reliable as possible. If it means spending an extra $100 or so on supplies, then so be it. Some ideas for you when you do install your add-on: zip tie every 6-8 inches, label ALL wiring every 12-18 inches (that way you know what every wire is), wrap wiring in loom. I have everything planned out, even though I wont be getting anything for like 6 months. I like to plan and do research before I get anything, that way when I get something I know exactly where its going and how I'm going to go about it. If you want anymore ideas on cleaning up your install let me know. I can always figure something out.

I have everything laid out in my head and on paper. If only I knew the dimensions of my sub box, then I would know if everything will fit. I mean, I knwo ti will all fit, but I don't know how tight of a fit its going to actually be. My sub box will be custom built and tuned to specs. I'm still unsure on subs, but I want kicker solo L7s, they may require too much space though. I may end up going with Memphis subs instead. I'm still going to run 1000 watts per sub. I'm a fan of SPL so I really like it LOUD. Honestly, the only thing I can't figure out where to put is my amps. I may have to build something for the floor of the backseat to mount them there and keep them hidden. I may even figure out a way to mount them to the wheel tubs if there is room between them and the box.

Take all of the guesswork out of it. I did this with my rear seat....

I have the rest of the trunk for my tank, compressor, and some tv's.

Thanks for the tips about the clean install, I happened to do all of them today before reading this. Zip tied all wires, and I just labeled the beginning and the end of the wires.

Easystreet setup was a B!tch due to me having to extend all sensor plugins since all of my valves are not in the same central location. Nothing like extending wiring harnesses, right. Took a good 8 hours but me and a friend did an excellent install with 0 problems in the end.

BaggedOn20s : If I wasnt going to use my rear seat then I would definately do a rear seat delete and put my subs/amps there. I may end up doing that. I'm still sort of unsure. My car will be my DD still, so its nice to have the backseat so more than just one friend can ride along. My friends already fight over who gets front now, it'll be even worse once its bagged. I couldnt even imagine how it would be if I could only take one person at a time. Trust me, we've crammed 7 people in my backseat alone plus another 3 up front. Theres no way I would let anybody sit in the back if my subs were back there.

If I were to remove the backseats, I would either put the subs there....or this idea just popped into my head...I could put my tank and compressors back there that way I would be able to setup the trunk the way I had originally wanted to:
3 12s, 2 amps (1 for subs, 1 for components)
2 extra batteries (1 for air, 1 for audio)
valves still in the wheel well
But still room in the trunk for stuff.

Gee thx, Bagged, now I have to draw this up and see if it will work. lol. Before when I had planned on doing this, it was just an idea that I never really thought out. I am really considering this, then I wont have to deal with my friends girlfriend going with us EVERYWHERE. This is sounding better and better. I think I might have to get rid of the backseat.

hey i had no back seats in my cav when i did my air but i had a big sub box that had a 15" L7 Kicker, that one thing i liked about having no back seats i didnt have to give any one rides.

BaggedOn20s: yea extending those wires are a pain the behind i had to do the same thing when i install my friends air system in her Mazda P5 i was only 2" short to connect the wires so i had no choise.

ShadowCav02: DO u Have a body kit on your car? i cant remember if u had one on or not.

this is what my back seats looked like.

this is what the trunk setup i had.

and this is when it was finished i have red led tubes that light up the compressor and tanks

this is where i had my valve for the rear is this the area u planning to put urs?

and this is where my frt valves where on the rear trailing axle but i'm move all my valve to the spare tire well so its easy to get at. and wont get plugged up from road dirt.

oh by the way sorry of the larger pics near the end i dont know how they got like that.

Pretty neat setup you had/have there. I have rear valves in the front and front valves in the "wiper cowl" area. I will try to go snap some pictures in a few minutes of the install.

Heres those pictures I went snap.. sorry it's dark out but it's an angle most ppl on the .org have not seen yet due to it being in the garage most of the time.

Ignore the blue wire loom... came with the car soon to go.

Ignore the water I finally got the hose pulled out of the resevoir jug since I no longer needed it.

This one sums up my weekend of Easystreet Hell.

Have you thought about where to mount the digital controller? I had mine mounted(using the supplied bracket) in front of the cup holders(in that cubby hole). I hated it in that location, so i made this.

I love it in the new location. Its very accessable while driving.

Actually Tinkles I didn't realize it was your bezel I had a picture saved of I am putting it near where the "Cigarette Lighter" is supposed to be on the bezel and 2 gauges, volt and a/f ratio will be mounted in the bezel directly to the right of the air ride controller.

Loved the way it looked in your car so I slid mine over a bit and added another gauge as well.

Just a tip, make a mold of the digi controller. I didnt and i learned the hard way. It took me a few tries, a few days, and a whole lot of swearing to form that by hand.

Im kicking around the idea of making a new bezel(same layout), but i dont have another 00+ cavy bezel.

Re: air ride parts list help

you had better soon

but I did not go with the autopilot for a reason.

1) you can not use them in conjunction with switches.
2) they autofill 1 bag at a time when you start up. so if you are layed out, your car is gunna get up to ride hieght 1 leg at a time, which will look kinda funny IMO.

The system seems nice though, and I was highly considering getting one.

I plan on mounting my valves in the trunk under a false floor. so you only see tank, compressors, subs, and electronics.....with some color matched hose going through the floor.

Someday Tinkles will build me a console to house my ART digital controller, and maybe I can talk him into making a piece for my switchbox as well.

Re: air ride parts list help
Tuesday, January 06, 2009 9:09 AM
Tinkles : ya know, I havent even thought of where to put the controller. Most likely I wont mount it anywhere, it will just stay in my lap, or when Im parked somewhere, I'llput it in the glovebox or the center console. I might have to make something for it to sit in, in the console. I thought I had everything figured out. It goes to show that even though you think you have everything planned, something always comes up. Now I get to decide where the hell Im going it. Back to the drawing board.

Krzy Z : No I dont have a bodykit anymore. I used to have an authentic ED XGT kit (4 piece). Now Im back to stock. I rolled into a curb at like 5mph and DESTROYED my front bumper. I didnt have the money to replace the front, so I went back to stock. I plan on going LSS (02 frt, 03+ sides & rear). And yes not having a backseat is going to be great. No more giving my friends rides everywhere, specially the ones that never have any gas money. The only bad part is that if I do want to go out cruizin or whatever, I can only take one friend. In your pics, Yes that is whereI was thinking about putting my valves, but it looks like there isnt enough room. Iwas actually considering mounting my amps on either side of the sub box if I were to keep everything in the trunk, to save space. But seeing as Im no longer doing that, I will just flush the amps into the false floor.

John Benham : So the AutoPilot controller only lifts one bag at a time? thats gay! Now IF I were to go with a traditional setup with switches, its there a way to use digital gauges? website? Im not a fan of needle gauges at all. So I cannot use switches AND the controller? Why? Whats the difference between the ART controller and the ES one?

BaggedOn20s : Sry for the sarcasm. You didnt complex the situation. You actually made things a whole lot easier. I just have to draw it up now. Having the whole backseat to put things in is going make things alot easier. maybe I can figure out a way to still be able to use the backseat when needed, but still have some of my audio equipment back there. hmm...the ideas are just flowing. lol.

Actually, that setting can be changed. Your suppose to be able to turn the auto fill off(that option doesnt work for me) and you can also change it so it auto fills all 4 bags a once. AND i will get working on your stuff here soon. Im moving back to college this saturday and i only have 7 hours of classes a week. That leaves me with ALOT of downtime.

and yes u can add a switch box to the auto pilot kit i have done it on my friends mazda p5 and a ford lighting, u just gotta find what wire dose what valve and u splice it in there.
