if you go back through the pages , i posted pics of the bar on a auto trans , and of the bar mounted the other way on a 5spd , the 5spd is the only 1 that shows ground clearance
oh dang, i didnt realize those pics were on the auto. sweet!

The bar looks great and so does the pics.
Also you mention "mounts needed..." Elaborate please?
How much is the clearance with a Getrag and a 2.4L?
Lastly how was it installing those bolts in? I am seeing that it is tight.
Thanks people.
Mounts, meaning Engine and tranny mounts, to keep the engine/tranny from moving, and under extreme conditions hitting the bar.
[quote=97cavie24ls(™)]
reason i say mounts are needed with the bar flipped up the clearance is pretty tight and if you launch the car hard and have the softer stock mounts , it might hit , the car in the pics has the turbo tech upper and trans mounts , and old rk lower with the red bushings
Damn... That made me.

And here I was getting giddy on this. Ah crap!
I don't believe nor want stiff engine mounts. And if it is going to bang, then unfortunately I'm going have to pass.
just do the trans mounts , aaron and i are still discussing adding something to space the brace down some to add a little more room
i just wanna be fair in the way they are recommended , 1 way or the other you are gonna loose clearance with something , either the ground or the trans
if you really like handling , and tossing the car through the twisties , your gonna love the k brace , and having the mounts will also increase the road feel when pushing the car
Have there been updates on the clearance using the GM mounts?
I had an idea, using your pics in the thread, do you think that the brace be mounted a little further back (towards the the firewall) to give more clearance?
I am a fan of the brace and eventually would like one.

-----The orginal Mr.Goodwrench on the JBO since 11/99-----

cant move it back , you wont have room for the nuts or bolts , plus there is a gap , with case parts on each side of that gap , so forwards or backwards rotation will always have something close
aaron said he was gonna provide something to space down the bar some to give it a little more clearance
Do you think that would sacrifice ground clerance?
Thanks in advance.

unfortunately you gotta give up a little to get alot , also kinda depends on how far you wanna drop it for added clearance
personally to me its worth it , but i also think mounts are worth it
Hey, am I the only one, or is it already middle of the first week of November??? I'm definitely looking forward to getting my k-brace!
The middle of November is the new shipping date. We have to get the parts welded and painted and put to stock. Then they will be ready.

Aaron, please PM me when this bar is ready. Can't wait to see the difference.
The first one that was welded in the weld fixture is going out to Brian W @ Team Green, to do the last fitment verification. Then we will have these released as soon as he fits it and gives the okay.

Man...I'd love to get it, but the car rubs already. I gotta figure out how to get the suspension setup so it doesn't rub or ride like there isn't suspension on the thing first.
GP has been submitted and paid, just waiting for Dave to approve
