Hey does anyone know the guy with the blue Z that was for sale? I'm trying to figure out what the price he was selling his car for. I heard 32,500, but from the looks of it it didn't look worth it.
As far as the Acura was concerned, I didn't notice much. I just saw the rims, hood and I think that was it. My buddy had the Blue one from Team Solo. He's got a ton done to it including the engine. He used to mostly race it, but now he shows. He was making a big stink about it because from what I heard it was pretty messed up!
That dude with the blue z was showing with Xtreme is selling it for 32.5 it the top of the line 350Z (whatever they call it) and it only has 5K on it. New it retailed for 42 or 43 somethin like that.
Believe me, I was shocked at the price too and ridiculed him for it, but damn, thats one sharp car with only 5k on it. It's for sale at the Nissan Dealership in Selinsgrove.
im making a general statement about the hobby as a whole
Brad dont take this the wrong way but theres been alot of shows your car has placed at and shouldnt have, at least not with a falling off body kit which is again an example of the judging looking for quantity of mods rather than how well they are actually done

thats car shows for you. nothing is ever fair. the main reason people get pissed is they go to shows expecting to win and when they dont this piss and whine like a 4yr old. placing should just be an extra bonus for you if you go to a show. i use to go to shows with my black cav and didnt really care what happened, i just enjoyed walking around looking at other cars and meeting other people. i plan to do the same once i get signals car back up and running.
Rodimus Prime wrote:mostly I hate them because of all the white suburban kids using thier parents money to rice out their cars trying to act hard all the time
the whole culture of todays car shows disturbs me
shouldnt be so judgemental there, matt.
everyone has situations and opportunities, that can work to your advantage. if it does, then take advantage instead of letting the opp go by.... you're sitting there "hating" on someone cause they get their money from their parents????
remember, up until about a year ago, you lived at home up until the age of 25 or 26 years of age.... living at home undoubtedly SAVES MONEY whether you pay or not. simply put you dont pay as much as you do when you live on your own....
many people could have looked at your situation and said the same, that you were living at home using your parents so that you can throw more funds into your car, remember all those trips out to highrev, to install the supercharger, the big brake kit, random trips to canada for meets, etc...
the avg car enthusiast on here doesnt have those options or the cash to do all that....most importantly within a single year. while i will always believe you, i, or ANYONE can afford anything you plan out to achieve and work for it vs complaining about what you dont have and who does have it....
your situation with living at home was a privelleged situation to where staying at home helped, even if you paid a percentage to live there. it was a place to lay head and store parts, heated garage to work in, etc.....
I as well have the option to move in with parents and live, granted its in DC, but if i did that, i could
1) delete 890 a month for rent
2) delete 200 for cable
3) delete 150 for electric
4) travel and train almost anywhere in the US for pro wrestling and movie filming
5) work only a part time job to support travel and car payment
maybe shell out 400 to help with rent and stuff... but it would be far helpful. HOWEVER, i value my independence the same as i did when i was 17 and went to college. going to class was like highschool, playing NCAA football was like a job, and i bounced as a part time job. chores were homework, and EVERYTHING WORKED.... everything works now as well, just a few things have been subsituted in different places...
in reference to car shows, though, i've always said car shows are judgemental(at dennys, nikkis house, etc.). its like a beauty pageant... who's popular or "in". almost anything that is subject to judging as opposed to actual performance (i.e. winning a race) will probably have some points that are not fair...nature of the beast. hence in the 10 years around JBO/RKSPORT, i've honestly entered ZERO show intentionally, but 1 only because i showed up...and i believe it was a j-krew pa meet at the race track up in PA out east of york......maple grove
but if you dont agree with em, simply dont do em...
and really the only thing screwed with the culture of car shows today, is that the majority have an ego to where they think theirs is best and everyone else or all from another brand is inferior. not to mention the whole import vs domestic
ive done dozens of shows all over the eastern half of the US and honestly in any of them that I ever placed or won it, it never really mattered to me because i know how car shows are, my opinion has gotten lower and lower, seems like every year theres a show which completely turns me off because of some completely bull@!#$ judgement

i dont disagree with you but thats just the way it is. its always been that way. just go to have fun, who cares about the judging

I know that's the case with my Cav. Alot of times when I got called at awards I seriously wondered what was wrong with the judges lol! Then sadly you have NCCA judging...which isn't always right. Hell one time me and my friends bitch at HIN cause they wouldn't let us in but let Emotion in, then I took home 3rd place female. I almost wanted to hit the judges of stupidity lol!
i heard some good things about the show then i heard some bad things. I couldn't get off work to go. Congrads to those who won. I dont think i could ever really show my car at a car show or anything. The fact that the judges dont really know how much time/work/effort you put into a car from those that just go and buy the cars from someone that did the work and a shop that did it. I know i would be pretty pissed off if i went to a show and knew i lost to some kid that bought the car already done and never even worked on the car himself.

so just because they have a nicer car and paid the extra money to get a shop to do it, they dont deserve anything?
Well I used to be one of those people that had a problem with cars where all the work wasn't done by the owner but now that ive been around it I kinda understand where some people are coming from
For instance a week or two ago I tried taking off my spoiler, after about 3 hours of getting nowhere I pretty much said "@!#$ it" I'll pay some body shop to do this and I dont care how much it costs, theres a point where you dont have the time or patience to be fooling with this @!#$

he didnt say that, dickbag.
hah this is getting good... im just gonna sit back and watch.. i dont agree with judging at all either.. esp ncca but ya well what can u do about it..thats the way the car show scene goes u have to know somebody
i was just saying that i think the judges should consider what kinda work the person put into the car along with how the car looks/performs.
Ryan Shissler wrote:i was just saying that i think the judges should consider what kinda work the person put into the car along with how the car looks/performs.
that would be good, but the only problems i can see is:
performs? how would you show that off and test? autoX or maybe drag racing...but most times people can fabricate times and put em on paper.
what kinda work? once again we would get stuck at how to PROVE the work was done by owner, or shop, or bought that way.
looks...as we've all said is still subjective from person to person. the fact that theres really no way to validate the above two makes it harder....although i fully agree with ya, form and function should go hand in hand. the only problem is the validation of the two things.
true its hard to prove that you did the work and its easy to lie and say you did the work. This takes me back to what i first said, I dont think I could show my car (unless the show wasn't being judged, thats another story) and then lose to someone that just went a bought a car already done. Heres an Example: Zack ^ up there hangs with a Club called XC and one of thier members i found out bought a cavi/fire from a local kid here in our area that built the car himself and all, i believe he is on this site his names Danny Cole. The car is extremely nice and i have no doubt will win almost every show it goes to. I know for a fact that car is going to be at almost every show this season, So why would i even bother takin my car there knowing im goin to lose to this guy that just bought the car already done.
pics of the above mentioned car that will be winning all he shows this year
