for everyone that post in this thread, the lancaster area is like 2 hours away
I've been watching this to see if there was any real interest. I'm looking to do stuff every other weekend, but I usually watch the Philly threads & know nobody goes. Anywho, I live in downtown Lancaster & made it to the courthouse in Philly in an hour & 20 minutes. Ephrata is a half hour towards Philly from here. I go the speed limit to about 7 over, so it's not really close to 2 hours at all.
Chances are I wouldn't attend an Ephrata meet, but don't be dissuaded by distance, it's not THAT bad of a drive at all.
If you guys would ever get a real solid plan & something fun going on, I'd probably make the trip down if it fell on one of the weekends that I need something to do!
i was just assuming 2 hours cuz im about 20 mins south of philly and it takes me roughly 90 mins to get to the outlets in lancaster so i was just giving a rough guess. thing is if we cant get people that like 10 mins from philly to go to a philly meet, its gonna be much harder to get them to drive out there. i have no problem driving anywhere to meet people if they
actually show up. ive orginized philly meets with times, dates and locations and still hardly anyone shows up. everyone says they will and the day of no one shows up so ive giving up on it
sean and i learned the hard way about the philly meet deal, being the only 2 people that seemed to show up. i have no problem going somewhere as long as i know people will show up from now on. but i guess you live and learn.

I don't know which way you're going, but I want to guess Rt. 30 since you are talking about the outlets. The turnpike is way faster, I've gone back and forth from Philly both ways a few times and the turnpike is the way to go. Ephrata is one exit off the turnpike, if you go to Lancaster, you have to go by Ephrata first. It only takes me an hour and a half to get to the track in Englishtown from here... try the turnpike the next time.
I don't know why you guys in Philly can't get it together, good luck.
the quickest way for me to get there since the turnpike is far from my house is to take route 1 down to 41 and 41 out to 30

Have you tried taking 202/100 (not sure what you'd be picking up, they run together)? I have a friend in Bear, Delaware & that's how I get to his house, which from here takes an hour and a half. I was looking at the map & you could pick that up before you hit 41 & 30. I've been on 41 & 30, I take them going to Wildwood. They're more scenic than anything. Your profile says Southern Jersey by the way, so it's hard to guess where you are in PA.
Regardless though, from Philly in general, it is way less than 2 hours. Especially if I can get almost to the Jersey coast from here in an hour and a half & Phil's place is a half hour from here closer to Philly
I think he'd like some visitors!
Hell yeah come on down.. I have lots of places we could chill out... Takes me 40 Minutes to get from here to Valley Forge on the turnpike which dumps you off on 76, and that is doing 80 the whole way....
We could have an Ephrata meet...
hell we have cruise ngihts every friday right on 272 at Galens... starting at 8:00 this will be our third week and the first 2 weeks have turned out huge!

Thats funny.... i didnt even know about the meet out in philly and i was out this weekend. Im from NYC. Some of the jbody knights and i might be out there again soon. Let us know when there may be another meet.

when i met justin cox out in york, i went 202 to 100 to 30 and took 30 all the way out and it took forever thats why i take 1 to 41 out to 30 now.

I'm tellin ya that Rt. 30 is the slow part of your drive. I live 5 minutes off of Rt. 30 & 35 minutes from the turnpike, yet it's always way faster to to to Philly using the turnpike. Try it sometime & you might be surprised. Plus, if you intend go to a meet in Ephrata if Phil gets one together, Ephrata is one exit off the turnpike south on 222.

What way do you go? It takes me 15 minuets to get from My house to Wee Bee which is in lancaster I live like right where 272 and 322 meet.

I go the way you do, 222. Figure in all of the traffic, it's a half hour every time I go. I have a hard time believing you're going 70, especially on the road nicknamed the "Autobahn of Lancaster"
I've made the trip so many times when I lived in Ephrata, got sick of the drive & moved to Lancaster. I guess too I was thinking actual Lancaster, not outside of it, WeeBee isn't really within the city. I Mapquested my old zip (17522) to my new zip (17603) and it says 29 minutes. Google maps put it at 27 minutes. Regardless, it's not 10 minutes & telling people that would want to travel here & know the distance/time would be misleading.
Besides, if anyone wants to see where something is, Mapquest & Google Maps are out there!
