driving thru rutherford, nj and the cop pulls me over.....i stopped at the stop sign and pull over he comes over to the passengers side....my windows are already rolled down shines the light in my face and my friends face says license/registration ..i hand it to him...insurance..hand it to him...he looks around the inside of the car with the flashlight than walks around the front checks the vin #'s says he'll be back....takes a while...comes back and says i pulled you over because of your tint....you know its illegal...and those license plate frames (i have chrome with chevy bowties around the edges) are illegal too they can't cover up garden state...will they don't cover up garden state just barely cover the g and a t so i said no i didn't know that officer....and he's like well i'm giving you a small fine for the tint ....and there's no points and please have the tint removed and you should take your license plate frames off too because another officer might get you for those and than thats another fine....i said thank you officer and drove away.....now me and my friend are like ok i guess he was cool...because it was just a 55 buck fine...and i think i've heard of people going to court of tint and having to take it off and show proof they took it off and getting big fines....so am i lucky or what....what do you guys/gals think.....at any rate the tint ain't coming off and i'll be staying out of that town for a bit.....lol....i drive around the cops in my town constantly and all the surrounding towns...and i'm always in rutherford to boot but i think he thought he was going to get lucky and it was gonna be a few wise ass kids in the car....and he was shocked when it was just this old lady.....and a friend...lol.....lol

well here's my car domain page...i've never gotten any bad reviews on my car before.....and i was just really wondering if anyone thought i got off lucky with the 55 ticket...lol......
as for the meets i could be the oldest one there...lol.....
i'm in lodi nj right now on the border of hasbrouck heights nj.....

you should be lucky it was only 55 bucks. tint is illegal but most cops dont really bother w/ it. usually they tell you that you have 10 days to remove the tint and bring it to the station so they can see. after that they usually dismiss the fine and you dont have to pay. you can leave it on but if you get caught again by the same cop, well good luck

wheres your front lisence plate??? dont you know in NJ you are required to have a front lisence plate?? dont preach about doing "illegal mods" when you yourself are not obeying the laws....
anyway laura that sucks lol but guess that cop was bored...but its true bout the lisence plate brackets..even the dealer ones lol, an sucks he gave you a ticket for the tint...gotta pay the price to look nice though

where in rutherford did he get you? rutherford cops have always been douches because its a rich ass town. i live in carlstadt the next town over and the cops are pushovers. its kind of a double standard though cuz if u ever come to my school(located in rutherford) when it gets out kids speed like crazy and attempt to do burnouts and crap in their $40K lexus and $50K srt 10 rams, yet no one gets in trouble because most kids there are rich and know people in the town municipalities. sorry to get off topic but thats the type of town that place is. i need to rant a little to.

I got a ticket for both front license plate not being on my front bumper (it was in my front windshield) and tints on my windows on seperate occassions. Both fines were $50 each...not a big deal but it's not worth me changing them in my opinion. Plus in my town, cops don't care, they have better things to do then hunt cars down that have tints and license plate covers that cover "garden state"...that's just another way to make money for the township.

his license plate fell off. he has to pick it up from a lost and found. it's not purposely off. and im sure "you drive a girl car" isn't the most original thing he's heard.
and as for not doing illegal mods...i think all jay means is if you're going to do illegal mods to your car, don't be suprised when you get pulled over. or even get tickets for it.

i wasn't surprised to get a ticket for it at all.....i was surprised at how low it was.....and that i didn't have to get it removed or show up in court.....
as for where in rutherford ...right on park ave by that park up by the funeral home right in the center of town.....

and yes rutherford cops are known for being douche bags....

Well first off, you'd feel pretty stupid if I said i just took it off for the photo, but no, my plate, bracket and all fell off while traversing the craters of downtown Fort Lee on my way to the DaimlerChrysler Training Center in Orangeburg. I haven't gotten around to claiming it yet, because i live two hours away, and yes, I got a ticket for it not too long ago... But you don't see me making posts on the .org about it, do you? I'm not on a high horse at all, but if you're going to do a mod to your car that is considered illegal, i fail to see the point of making a frustrated post about it here. I'm not saying i think those laws are right, but laws are laws and if you break them, you pay the consequences, no point in whining about it. Its nothing personal, i just fail to see the point in this post if she even says she's not surprised to have gotten a ticket for it...
