grocery stores stocking the shelves, gas stations... a few things that first came to mind. you might be better off to visit locations and speak to the manager and see if they are hiring.

Sucks don't it???

I was corporate downsized after 6 $1/2 years in March of 06.

Took me 1 year to find another job compatible with my qualifications......

I wish you luck my friend.

Trumbull Industries 300 Dietz Road, Warren, OH. It's a plumbing supply warehouse that I worked at for 5 years and it was great. In 2000 I started at $8.46/hr and in 2005 I left $13.xx/hr. Great benefits, 2nd shift available(330p - 12am-ish). Kinda far from cleveland, depending on your area AND considering gas prices, but just thought I'd throw it out there. It's right off of Route 82. Good luck.

I hear that. I'm a recent grad and was just laid off my first job I had for only 9 months. They say its only for a short time til things start picking back up, but i'm not going to take anyone's word for it. There's better opportunities out there, just gotta find places that are hiring in this market :\ Sad thing is, this state's economy and unemployment is one of the strongest right now given the circumstances the country is in, wtf.

I was just about to get a new car with the coin ive been banking for 9 months, and was planning to move out this summer...all that went down the drain pretty damn quick.

what all did you do there?

We "pick" orders, pack boxes, wrap pallets, load trucks, process some UPS/FedEx/DHL shipments. There is also the need for using high-lifts, riding pallet jacks, cherry-pickers and in some cases a 20 ton crane. They train for all the equipment as necessary but prior experience would help, however, just being coordinated and a hard worker you'd be just fine at picking up the skills at this job.
All the guys that I worked with that are still there are awesome. We always had a good time while working. I'm not %100 positive that they're hiring, but when I was there we would always look forward to getting a newbie because there seems to always be someone else leaving.

Anyway, here is their website.TSI It's not really for potential employees, but rather for their potential clients but it still shows you some info about them. Good luck.

You mentioned that you're in school. If you're in college and you're a junior/senior, most schools have internships available through surrounding area businesses. I just completed one back in the Fall at $10 an hour. I visited my school's career services department earlier this week and I'm hopefully getting another one pretty soon. Give it a shot... if you're in business management, they try to place you in a management trainee position, if you're in human resources, they'll place you in an HR department, etc. It could potentially lead to full-time employment upon graduation too.

Whats your background and where are you at? We need third shift people at the KeyBank operations center in Brooklyn. It's an IT help desk. You could swing 12-17 an hour based on experience. If you are interested Give my recruiter a call 440-614-5150 and tell them Mark Bassett sent ya. They also staff for other companies with other backgrounds so give them a call anyway if you arent IT savvy.
