So i went to start up my car last night and it wouldn't turn over .... so i tried again ... wouldn't turn over .. so i sat for a few seconds and tried it again ... turned over .. but omg it sounded like shi-at and the whole car was shaking .. like you can feel the engine shaking and the exhaust shaking under the car .. and the whole car shaking from side to side.
So needless to say i am pissed beyond belief and super worried and no-one close has a scanner. Kyle's got one but can't get to me (in BFE) til during the week sometime.
Sooo ... if anyone has ANY clues .. let me know ... cuz im pretty worried.

id have to agree with viper. if you can drive it down there. mine did the same thing once. i unpluged my 02 sensor and it stoped shaking. which reminds me i need to put the new one on lol

oh yea, forgot to mention that i changed the plugs today and bought new ones cuz i thought maybe that was it and it still does the same thing

Does it sound like a lawnmower? Almost like you're only running on two cylinders? I think the eco's are similar to the 2.4's and have the coil packs sitting on top of the engine. When you changed the plugs you might have knocked one loose or something. I only suggest this because I just dealt with the coil packs dying on me. Replaced the coil packs but one didn't seat properly so the engine was vibrating, sounding like a lawn mower, acceleration was virtually nonexistent. Might be something to check.

Yea ... he sounds like my dads Harley with his "Daytona bike week" pipes on lol ... Rick was just telling me about the coil pack .. i'll see if i can find one Monday somewhere.

Assuming that this occurred relatively shortly after replacing the spark plugs, I would just take off the cover and make sure the coil packs are properly seated before going out to get new ones. Took me a couple tries to get mine on there snuggly and keep them from unseating every time i turned the cover over to put the screws back in. In any case, the coil packs for the 2.4 are 34 bucks for each one at Auto Zone, so I would guess the eco's are relatively similar. Good luck with it.

i changed the plugs this afternoon and this happened last night and we made sure that the plugs and rubber wire cover things (lol sry name escapes me atm) were in right

also check to make sure you didnt drop any of the "springs" inside the plug boots...if you did itll be skip and misfire too. also recheck your coil harness connection.

yea i double checked the harness connection like 3 times yesturday lol .. ill go chk the springs .. didnt think about that.
one of my buddies has a spare coil pack so hopefully i can get it off him soon and swap em and see if thats the prob. *crosses fingers and hopes so*

Well my buddy drove all the way out here from LongWood and hooked up his scanner to my car and it's the coil pack. So hopefully when Mike gets here this week ill be back "on the road again"
