I found a eco swap today and a local junk yard... but it has 127XXX miles on it.. thats double the miles and then some that are on my car.. he only wants 300 for everything inlcuding computer.. wires and everything but thats alot of damn miles

My Lynx has 308,000 miles. Also owned an '82 Celica with over 250,000 miles on it. Mileage means absolutely nothing if the car was maintained properly, but that's something you have no way of knowing. What happens if you find a motor with 50,000 miles on it, but was driven by someone who beat on it and changed oil every 10,000 miles because he was cheap. I hate to say it but it's the luck of the draw when getting one from the junkyard unless you plan on tearing it down. It wouldn't take much to put new bearings, rings, front and rear seals, and timing chain tensioner on while the motor is out anyway. Probably would do the water pump too even if it was a low mileage engine as transverse mounted engines can be a bltch to work on. I don't know how tight the eco fits, but I couldn't even get a 3/8 ratchet on the serpentine belt tensioner on the 2200 and had to fab up a tool.

i don't know... Aaron said he could probably find me one cheap but not as cheap as that one.. i'm gonna hold off anyway.. i want to redo the car outside (ie wheels and moldings and such) b4 anything else
