exhaust question!!!
Sunday, June 12, 2011 10:56 AM
Hey all, I'm currently on my phone so I can't really search things quite as well so bare with me on this one. I've been looking at an aeon imports exhaust on ebay (2.5 in piping, 4in opening) and I was wondering if anyone has any sund clips of this set up or can give me any reviews on it? Its only 150 US with free shipping and I've read good reviews about it on other cars. Any help would be appreciated =)

100 % Agreed! If you want a decent exhaust you got to pay for it. I could care less about sound that I do performance. Ebay exhaust won't last you long at all. Muffler blow it is inevitable. Buy some good piping and a good muffler and get it put on.

^^^exactly, $150, you can probably get a magnaflow or dynomax super turbo or something brand name (just a muffler)....
If you have no problem spending $150, get a brand name muffler, if you want it to sound like @!#$, save your money and get a fartcan somewhere else for $50.

It is a mandrel bent exhaust system, if you search "aeon imports exhaust 05 sunfire" it should come up, it doesn't look like terrible quality and its gotten good review on other 4 and 6 cylinder cars... (no jbodies though)

i know it's twice the cost but if you want cat-back then go with magnaflow or pacesetter. hell the pacesetter i think s on sale at turbotechracing.com save up a lil more money and do it right.

other option is to go to a reputable shop that does exhaust and have it custom done i.e. different or no resonator a name brand muffler that will cost know more than your 150 poor quality ebay exhaust.

Magnaflow want damn near 700 for their 2.25 system. Ridiculous. I don't care for the pacesetter brand although a lot of people like it. I needed 2.5 system and wanted SS. Most exhaust shops will charge 4-5 hundred and some use only mid steel, not SS. Mandrel exhaust supply mid steel piping with name brand mufflers for under 300.
