if i get some 36ib injectors does it have to be tuned to run properly? if so how should i go about tuning it?
i think your exhaust O2 sensor will correct for the larger size, but i wouldnt trust my word on it, you should probobly post in the tuning forum.
oh and use the SEARCH button, lol, just kidding i hate when the only answer people give you is to search
Yes you need a tune.

thats what i thought, i understand needing a tune i just hate the fact that i can go buy some bigger injectors which arent really that expensive but to actually use them i have to tune wiivh is very expensive... anyway thanks guys
you gotta pay to play. no increase in power is free.
just like when i went to do cams, scored them for $250, but then all said and done would have turned into a $1500 assembled head job to use them to the full effect....
upgrade one thing, you have to support that upgrade which in turn makes you support the next upgrade which by the time you get all that done you are back to upgrading the original part you upgraded... vicious cycle.
If you think getting hp tuners so that you can tune its expensive then you have no need for bigger injectors since you must think 3 grand for a proper cheap turbo setup is outrageous.

no i understand paying for a proper turbo setup, but im not that far yet on my car. i just didnt understand 500 bucks for a set of fuel injectors but anyway, if i get ht tuners do i need to get a new ecu? or can i tune the stock one?
Just an FYI dakota...
if your mod list is updated, you are nowhere near needing upgraded injectors. Injectors on their own wont increase HP

okay what should i do before that t hen? i was gonna get a throttle boddy and intake maifold soon as well.
Alright now we're talking

put the LE5 manifold or SAAB manifold on, and you'll get MUCH better flow, MUCH better top end, and with the larger TB too, THEN you can worry about injectors. When you do that, you will need a tune, but you'll benefit a LOT from those mods

besides them, you can get some motor mounts / trans mounts. They help lay the power to the wheels much better than the stockers too
Full exhaust setup with header and hi flow cat would be great upgrades too
or if you want to turbo it... just get a turbo setup and be done with it

so after manifold and tb i need tune? of after those and injectors? and btw thanks alof the the help, im new to most of the car stuff
Yes, to get the most out of any mods your gonna want to get it tuned

With the TB and Manifold, you should replace the injectors because the stock Eco ones are maxxed out at stock
If you didn't put injectors in, you'd be going the right way toward detoation
Then get the tune after the injectors

Also should up the redline at that time to ~ 7000 however, you should also get internals to go that high

Exactly....

okay.. so i should buy tb and manifold and injectors and buy hp tuners all at once? and make it one big project instaead of little ones? then after that work on internals, im guessing like heads and pistons? then tune up to 7k redline?
You don't need any internals for a 7k redline. To go above 7 you need to do a balance shaft delete and to go over 7.5-8k you need to build the head.

Injectors on their own wont increase HP
better atomization and flow matched injectors WILL increase hp.

True, but the 1 or 2 horsepower isn't worth 200-300 bucks.

Why not send a stock set off to:
Injector-Rehab.com (Watch vids)
or to
RC Engineering
I think that a clean well balance flowing set of injectors would do wonders. Plus, no need to tune... Good luck.

Sorry I was saying that the balance shaft was an internal piece, and should be removed when you up the redline at anything over stock
if you want to get technical, you dont HAVE to do anything to rev higher... but odds are against you the higher you go

GM parts can order it for you
I believe Crate Engine Depot can order them as well
Or go to Cobalt SS sites and see if anyone is selling a manifold setup
As for your TB's there's a LOT of manf around. I've heard great things about SMG TB's. I believe OEM makes them too. (he's a member on here)
You can also get a machine shop to bore your stock one out, so long as they replace the centre as well, not just bore the top
Hope that helps for now man
