so i was thinking bout gettin a polish and port done soon. i have a 2200 sfi 01 auto(dont laugh.... i know...) but how much should this run through everyones experience? and how much should i ask for to be done (shaved off er how ever you wannna word it) or should i take the money and get something else done? (dont wanna get a header just gonna wait till turboed for that, currently have cai, catback and highflow cat)

Expect to pay between 800-1800 for a quality job. It's not a 350 Chevy, and it takes some time and research to find a place that is familiar with the 2200. If you are going to shell that kind of cash out, it would be foolish to not get a header, the stock manifold will choke it out. Before getting a P&P, I would suggest doing other things first. Ported throttle body and intake manifold, FULL exhaust (header back), and maybe a shift kit for your transmission.
if u could point me in the way of someone for a intake mani on the 2200 i would love you=) and actually look into a tb right now lol, should i just get a polished and ported 2200 one or get a 2.3l one p&p?

I think the 2.3L one only bolts on to the pre 98 2.2 liter. I am sure someone will jump in on that though. As far as the manifold, you really can only have it ported (unless you want to pay 700 for a Venom Racing manifold).

nothing bolts onto the pre 98 2.2. the throttle boy is one cast piece with the intake plenum.

i port and polished my tb on my 98 2200 sfi on my own and it does wonders
my machine shop guy that i told u about in royal oak does port and polishin. and i have new valves for your head and also have my ported topfeed you saw for sale still. with my ported 95 head would fit. gimmie a pm or call my cell i would love to get rid of some more parts outta my full garage.

What do you want for the head+top feed? Does it have injectors with it? Does my manifold need to be modified or are you selling the lower with the top feed? Sorry for so many question but if I can buy a top feed setup for a good price, I won't have to finish mine

I do my own P+P but the last head I was working had a big crack in it, So I had to reluctantly scrap it.. Let me know or PM me..
Oh yeah, A '95 head won't fit a 2200 IIRC..

The '92-'97 head will fit the '98-later LN2... You just need to swap everything that bolts to it to be able to use it! The ports are of different shape in & out (Int. & Ext). It may look like the later exhaust will bolt-up, but the ports are smaller & located lower.
Also: Using the early head on the later short-block will give you a compression-ratio raise beyond belief!
Just be sure to flash a new tune for the changes (Duh!) & you'll be set.

Good to know on the heads. I think you have actually told me before. I run a '98+ header and downpipe on my '96, Ports still lined up fine and are the same shape too.
How big are the primaries on that header?
