and what are the chances of you making those cnc aluminum control arms? or maybe make em out of aluminum tubing? round is strong, isn't it?
Lets stay on topic, but I will say this, if we ever did anything it would be a FULL CNC aluminum lower control arm. Way to many issues with tubing over the years from other places. The trouble is most will not want to spend what it cost to make these ~$200 each side...
Here we go again another thread about intake manifolds for engines that already have a handful of companies making them already....... May I add you completely avoid the question about LN2/2200 intake manifolds....... Every intake manifold thread I have read in the last couple months has LN2/2200 intake manifolds mentioned and still companies seem to feel the demand is not there.... Am I missing something?
But let's stay on topic so companies are not urged to do something other than what 50 other companies are already doing. I am just saying.......
What about making it with a LS1 throttle body flange ?

Man we get about as much love as Dick Chaney does walking down hooker alley with a $100 bill sticking out of his zipper while holding a sign that says "good fortune have a tug."
Like Rodney Dangerfield use to say " what does it take for a guy to get a little respect around here"

No one has EVER made a direct replacement intake manifold, other than the look a like stock one venom did... No one else has done what we are about to do.

Get a list going with 10 members with $500 ready... We will make it happen.

I did a quick google search and compiled you a list of sites to buy Ecotec intake manifolds....
O.E.M. LD9 & ECO
Vulcan (oh wait you have to move the throttle body and change your intake but honestly who cares still directly bolts on)
Summit (says GM intake manifold with use of LS1 throttle body
SMS ECO manifold
Cobalt 2.4 conversion
Correct me if I am wrong but these are all examples of direct bolt on intake manifolds that do not require you to do anything to the cyclinder head to use them.... So what if a tuner has to change the way the throttle body sits or re-run your intake piping. Sounds like pretty small demands to be able to use a better intake manifold and atleast these are available to the public with out giving up your first born child and then some.
The point of this is not to have to re locate a throttle body, and not to have to worry about fabbing up a new air intake system... Direct bolt on, means nothing else needs to be changed.
Those aluminum ones you listed all requre a new air intake tube/relocate the TB... We wanted to get away from this.

TTR'S always been good for me, and i've ordered a lot. Put in there ctrl arm bushings @ 100k now i'm sitting @ 205k and they're still good. Also have their tranny mounts+upper and lower motor mounts.
I've bought from many different vendors on this site and TTR has good pricing (plus points system, not that it saves you a lot, but it's something) and fast shipping (I'm located in Canada aswell).
TTR has good pricing/shipping/variety of items.
OEM has givin me a discount when i never even asked for one.
Aplusperformance went to long lengths to help me find a single replacement Dspec strut.
So far only 1 bad vendor on this site. Level zero motorsports. No product and no refund.
Good lord, that GM Performance Ecotec intake manifold on Summit is only listing for $142.95.
2.2/2200 guys - stop complaining that nobody makes parts for your @!#$. Band together, get money ready and go after a company to make some.
Otherwise you guys sound like a bunch of whiny bitches. You don't see MadJack, or notec and those guys going around constantly complaining. They just go out and do, the rest of you LN2 owners, the guys who posted in here specifically - should take note.
I know there is a thread now for a GP on them now, but unless you guys get it going in the right direction that's going to be just another pipe dream.
yea but doesnt the Gm performance manifold REQUIRE tuning and injectors? i have full exhaust, intake, mounts etc, etc, just a tune isnt an option for me so if the ttr one doesnt require a tune and the GM mani does then ttr has a huge advantage in my book right there, plus i Love my TTR mounts in both my j's and stickers on my skateboards

Yeah, that price on the GMPP one is missing a "0" it is around $1000...

The way I read it, the "GM" jobby on summit is for the intake manifold FLANGES? just saying...
STREET ANTIX, it's coming...
so aside from all the 2200 bitching, where are we at with this?
It is still in the research, to find out if members what it, and also if it is even possible.

Turbo Tech Racing wrote:z yaaaa wrote:ok so like a log style but instead of having the tb on the end of the plenum.. have it on TOP of the plenum?
Exactly, but it will NOT be a log style manifold, like you are thinking of a turbo manifold.
It will have 4 runners, and a FULL plenum...
You may want to elaborate a little more here Aaron, because what you just described is the very definition of an intake manifold.
For the runners, do you mean "tuned length" runners instead of short untuned lengths? If not, it sounds like Brad is right in his assumption. I don't even know where to start with the plenum, because I don't know what you mean by a "FULL" plenum. A plenum is a plenum. The only thing you can change is shape and volume, but its purpose remains the same.
Just as an fyi though, there is really no such thing as a "turbo manifold" when it comes to intake manifolds. An intake manifold is simply a Helmhotz Resonator/Bandpass Filter.
I have no signiture
I would have to see it before I jump on board with anything.
I have a feeling its going to look like a 4-1 header only instead of a downpipe there is going to be a TB flange.
A suggestion. FOr boosted application set-up a port on the flange so you do not boost the PVC system.
FU Tuning
I would like to see a drawing of this at least before saying yes I will take one ..
Please keep this updated ..
.
I would like to see the TB mount just a little lower for hood clearance.
2004 ecotec 5 speed. Injen intake, better plugs and wires. Just lowered it and added a wing.

It would actually look a lot like the stock setup (composite manifold), just from aluminum, stronger, and larger ports...

There are S-truck guys that would be interested in it too, so the more like stock in layout the better.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".

that blows so much... so much potential lost...
no one HP tunes near you?
