PJ...call me man. I need to ask you a few Qs. This post has given me too many new ideas for back-up motors and things to change to make my car better LOL.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

If you have to ask, then yes, it is wrong.

Simply sexy. One question though...why is the motor mount cut off like that?

cuz i thought it looked stupid, so I shortened it.
I'm just waiting on back-ordered parts now. basically sitting around with my thumb up my ass.
I'm also still formulating how the hell I'm going to move the under hood electronics. I don't want to pack it in too tight in case I ever need to get to it in an emergency.
keeps getting better with each new post
RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
Hey pj do you remeber what drill bit and tap you used on the block for the oil drain?
Thats a cute little battery.
Looking good PJ.
thanks for all the comments guys
I started on the wiring harness today. I removed all the tape and loom, and cut wires and labeled, and sat with a multimeter and connector pinouts to make sure that the wire labels I put on were correct.
The large black connector on the ecu is now its own harness, separated from the rest of the harness completely. The blue plug (which is mostly a BCM interface/ body interface) is now part of whats left of the harness and relay box/ body interface plug.
I've removed about a pound of wiring. Automatic transmission wires, the stock O2 sensor wires (I'm using a single, wideband O2 in the header for the eMS control), EVAP, and anything else deemed useless (such as cruise control related items, etc.. things and options I never had or don't have anymore)
Took me about 3 hours today but all in all, was well worth the time and was surprisingly somewhat relaxing. I feel confident again in the electronic/ electrical aspect of this project.
I still have about another 2 hours to pour over whats left, make sure its good to go, then I need to mount the ecu, the eMS, and the relay box and start running the wires.
I need to look up the tap/drill size i'll post up the details when I find it.
Great news, keep us updated !

couple quick questions
did you rip that trunk out yet? how extreme are you going to go with that? like everything gone and a whole new floor in would look sexy..
oh and what kind of fuel pump are you throwing in there? and where are you mounting your FPR at?
And what kind of header are you going to use with this?

i'm moving into a new house, so funding for the skwirl has fell a bit onto the back burner.. but the biggest delay isn't money or time, its parts.. i have a few key items on backorder and every part is delicately intertwined, so I can't forge ahead without the one small item I'm waiting on.

the trunk is still in the car, I've been trying to tie up all the other loose ends before going through with that job. I plan on doing what I need in order to stuff the fuel pump under there.. I'm most likely going to rip out a square section that will remove the spare tire tub, and bolt in an aluminum floor and use it as a mounting plate for the fuel pump and a few other items if necessary. the weight reduction and room will be very very welcome.
I'm also thinking about rigging up front and rear tow hooks because dragging this car around isn't fun and it'd be nice to have something to hook up to easily. They'll be hidden of course.. I'm not one for exposed tow hooks.
I'm using an aeromotive A1000 fuel pump. rated at 800hp EFI
the FPR is mounted near the firewall and secured to the rear transmission chassis mount. the bottom of it plugs right into the fuel return hard line.
I plan on re-using the OBX 4-1 header with 3" collector I had on the skwirl previously for the time being.
the current project is the wiring, but I'm still focused on getting the mechanics of the engine and chassis squared away.
stainless steel brake lines
new shift cables
mount fuel pump and run -AN lines for feed to hardlines
finish fuel pump in-tank pickup
mount meziere expansion tank
finish cooling system plumbing
mount ECU, eMS, and relay box
wiring
programming
troubleshooting
thats the list at this point.. the first few steps are easy, but once I get to mounting the expansion tank it's going to get tough and there's quite a few parts I need to purchase first... a new strut tower bar and subframe brace being the big two purchases coming up soon.
