Ok so I've read that a large cam can cause low vacuum and the 56mm 2.3 TB can cause problems in the idle of the motor if you're getting low vacuum. So my issue. I'm planning on a top end build in the next couple months (JBP Stage 2 type grind cam, port polish, 2.3 TB, etc), am I going to have problems with the TB and should I just stay with the stock TB? Is it worth the trouble to get the 2.3 TB? Thanks.
from what i read the JBP cams aren't more lift there just a more aggressive profile cuz its a regrind so i dont think you'll have to worry about low vacuum. but i could be wrong....
I have a 62mm TB and a very aggressive cam profile. Yes, I have LESS vacuum at idle, but not enough to affect anything. All vacuum run accessories work perfectly fine.
Adding a bigger TB with your cam is a very good idea. and having it tuned afterwards is even better.
I'm not getting the JBP Cam. I'm just basing my grind off of it. Probably going to Comp or Crane. Not sure which yet.
they are both good companies who know thier stuff....either would be fine.
Ok thanks but I'm just considering getting ahold of a full 2200 out of a 2001 Cavalier that was in a rollover for a parts motor so I don't have much down time on my car because its my driver. I'm looking at around $300 I think but I'll have to check with my friend again to make sure.
