I was told that the Celica engine can b put in the j-body cars, is that true??? if so wat would i need???
yeah....why would you do that when you can put quad turbos on the j-body. nobody could touch you then!!!!
Here is the write-up i found with a SEARCH!!!!!! for putting a Celica engine into a J-body.
Step 1. Aquire said engine.
Step 2. Aquire said J-body
Step 3. Aquire a rather large hammer, this will be the most useful tool during this swap.
Step 4. Hit self in head with said hammer. Repeat as many times as nessary to realize that a built L61 or LD9 is better.
Step 5. Im betting you have a headache now. Well now you know how we feel when you post.
Are you talking about like swapping in something crazy like a black to 4age 20v or something? id be down to see that... thoes motors are NUTS! talk about 10k build easy.
Any engine in the world can be made to go in any car with enough time and money.

The engine you would want from a celica is 13:1 compression and a full cast iron block only making around 190hp. L61 is lighter and doesnt take much to make the same power
it would be cheaper to buy the celica and cavalier and keep them both separate from each other.

Can you measure, weld and troubleshoot? Guessing not or you wouldnt need to be asking if it's possible.

Now with northstar V8, IRS, 20's n 22's
you would need to fabricate engine and tranny mounts possibly weld. possible some suspension modification like driveshaft and components. what engine will you be putting in? what year celica? 1zz-fe 2zz-ge 5s-fe 3sge 3sgte? not like it matters but you would need the ecu. and a lot of money. or skill. then you would have to ask why?
celicas suck....why would you want to?

What motor did toyota use in the toyota cavaliers? Its a little embarrassing if they just threw in those 2200's or the 2.2OHV's.. but then again i guess Mitsubishi did it with the avengers back in the day..

2.4L was in the toyota cavaliers, im pretty sure that was the only engine. But i have read anything about them recenetly so im not 100% positive.
yes 2.4 was the only engine available in them

In my opinion i would think it would be cool to see a Toyota Motor pulling around a Jbody.. allthough an "Eco swap and your done" is much easier but something like a 3S-GTE or a 4AGE 20v would turn some heads..
I doubt it would turn heads. When your driving it's just gonna sound like another 4-banger. The only place it would get some attention is car shows, but then you'll mainly get the same reseption that your getting here.

thats 100% correct.....toyota cavaliers only came with 2.4l in them and nothing else

I've heard a few people make mention of valve count here... If that's the case, Maseratti already has the record on number of valves placed in a circular piston application at six. And they did it about 20yrs ago. And if you're wondering what I mean by pointing out circular, follow this:
In the early '90s Ford did a little experiment in the area of racing motorcycles as a challenge to the "No more than 6-cyls" rule, which meant there was no way you could run a V-8 in Moto-GP and get away with it. So what they did is design a liquid cooled V-4 with four valves per cylinder. How'd they do that, and not met the "circular" record I mentioned you say? Simple: The cylinders & pistons were made in a ovular shape (That's right! They shaped them like an oval!!). Never saw what the total results were from their effort, but you gotta admit... That took nads!
