i have a 98 sunfire with a 2200 i purchased a pacesetter header and as many of you know you have to relocate the o2 sensor and to do that you have to cut the o2 wire and add more wire. well i've tried 3 diffrent o2 sensors and i keep trowing a code about it and im running rich any suggestions?

Make sure there isnt a wiring issue. Im willing to bet (if you havent tried a new sensor) that there is some flaw in the wiring, poor connection, something.

Otherwise, strap a new sensor in there, and try it, make sure to reset the computer beforehand, so that its all cleared up (disconnect battery for 30 mins is what I do).

I have an issue with the downstream o2, but thats because I know the sensor is shot.

I never had a problem with the o2 on my car, I had 2 2200's with both (painted and armor coated) headers by pacesetter.

Good luck.

well my one header is fine but i havent checked the other (haha lame joke)

i'd say it may be a wiring issue, make sure everything is connect correctly (the new wire), you may be able to get a volt meter and do a test, i'm not sure since ive never had any o2 problems before.

Uhm, are you cutting the wire on the sensor side, or the engine harness side of the plug?

engine harness side

Make sure you solder, very sensative, also you should have cut on the sensor side instead of the engine harness side. Thats how I do mine, 5 years 0 problems, I am on my 3rd sensor or so.
