That's not really worth doing with a FWD car, unless you're a serious autocross racer & just want to try to improve the vehicle's balance.

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

I think it's a great mod for those looking for better balance and therefore slightly better handling, want a cleaner look to their engine bay, and want a fun little Saturday afternoon project. It's relatively inexpensive, too. I would also switch to an Optima battery, since they're ideal for a remote mount setup. All in all, with the kit and the optima battery, it's about a $200-250 mod. If you go autocrossing, it helps with balancing the front and rear out a little more, as Nickelin Dimer said. For the price including the battery, it's really a "Why not?" mod.

why buy a kit from summit when you can go to the local parts store and get all of this stuff for like half the price? Its an ok mod but if you go to a couple tracks they require you to have an on/off switch on the exterior to run or else you cant. I've been contemplating this for a long time but im not sure if i want a big switch sticking out on the outside of my car for everyone to see.

i will do it because of room under the hood, as for the shutoff switch, im gonna cheat and get a spare tail light, drill a hole in it and mount the switch in that and swap it out when i go to the track to race. we do that on a lot of camaros and firebirds.

makes it great for installing air intake also. I got all my supplies at a local hardware/automotive store all cost ran me about $50 i used the same battery and made my own hold down. I think it took me about 4-6 hours to do it

I know it's an old thread, but anyone know where I can find a "how to" on this? Thanks.
