looking to upgrade my 98 cav z24 conv. but not too sure what i should do. so far i am doing cat back magna flow 2.25" exhaust, cold air intake, and crankshaft pulley. going to do headers, throttle body spacer, and thats what i got so far. can you help? plus my buddy has a 98 neon rt that he just bought and wants to run. what you think? can i take it or not?
save yourself the trouble and dont buy the tb spacer. unless you plan on running nos and need a place to tap the lines, the are pointless on a fuel injected car. you would get a bigger boost in performance by buying fuzzy dice to hang from the rear view.

And your gona need some more mods to beat the r/t...
the rt only has an intake and a can on the ass. i looked up specs and they are as follows. RT 150 hp 130 ft/lbs torque 2300 lbs. Z24 150 HP 150 ft/lbs torque 2800 lbs. i just came up with the money to do the headers too. so race will be with intake, pulley, and header back exhaust. yes i plan on putting like 75-100 shot of nitrous. i thought about putting in a control module because they dont make a chip for the car. was told it would be pointless because the car is a 5-speed anyways.
500 pound difference, all other things being equal, thats 1/2 a second quicker in the 1/4 mile. If your info is correct though, your mods ought to give yourself a much better chance, at the very least even out the power/weight ratio. 100 shot of nitrous is probably at the upper limit of what the stock internals can handle too, so don't skimp on the system. But a 50 shot will definitely get you down the track before his Neon.
yea but the nitrous wont be done wen we run. just intkae, pulley, header back exhaust.
