^^ there is the purpose right there. for performance, they might not be too bad seing as that muffler is 2.5" in and out (if i read correctly). but the main purpose is what quicklilcav said, doubles the effective length of the muffler without doubling the physicla length. is good for cars without alot of room.
i do agree with them looking a little funny though.

How to make an eBay automotive scam:
1) Create a shoddy product that most likely screws the owner out of HP and mileage by blocking something.
2) Claim it affects the air flow positively, and adds up to X% HP and improves mileage by Y%.
3) Create Joe american to claim it's effectiveness on several cars. Popular choices include the Mustang, Camaro, an unnamed BMW, and three or four popular compacts. Also, there must be at least two people claiming their old beater truck/station wagon showed massive gains, because obviously poor people are stupid, because they are poor.
4) Re-iterate your point with a scientific looking animated GIF image, and lots of big flashy banners with fonts no one would think to use in their reports at the office.
5) Get some tin foil and produce 1000 or so units.
6) Photoshop the tin foil unit so it looks like stainless steel, aluminum or any other metal with a name that gets people's attention.
7) Set a price that doesn't sound scammy, but still looks like a bargain.
8) Sell, sell, sell! When you get your bad reviews on eBay, rename the product, and get a new eBay account. Move the "Office" to your buddy's place.
9) Repeat as necessary

whats so "lol lol" about it? its a decent effective muffler. so far this would be like laughing at tein suspension solely cause the color is green....
oh i dunno.. 10 hp from a muffler? which basically adds resistance with more bends? doesn't add up with me
Pretty much every aftermarket muffler I've ever seen advertised makes claims it can't back up on a dyno. Nothing new as far as I'm concerned. If pure performance was the goal this wouldn't be the choice but I'm pretty confident it WOULD be quieter than a straight-thru muffler, while still having more ultimate flow capability than a stocker.
