im about to get this done once i get home but i still need plug wires, i contacted msd to see if they had anything for 96-97 2.2's but they said no.
im wondering what you other guys are using aftermarket wise for this swap.
i can make a custom set if i know what length i need and what style the boot for the spark plug is.
any info would be greatly appreciated
thanks
I had some wires from a Small block chevy laying around, they were the larger diameter cut to fit type. MSD should definitely have some of those. They worked fine. Ive also heard plug wires from a 3800 would also work good too.
Really, just make your own. So much easier than finding a set to fit. Fairly simple to make and it's kinda cool to learn a new skill.
31159 is the set I used for my Ecotec, and should be very close to fitting for the 2.4L considering how much I had extra.

damn not having an edit button
what style connector is needed to go on the coil packs and spark plugs?
I went to the yard with a measuring tape and take one ones that are long enought.... that first plug on the pass side is kind of a stretch.
Just buy an accell universal kit and cut them to length. Thats what i did and it works great!! I think it was like $30 from summit.
Yup.
Buy the universal set where you can customize your own lengths.
They'll fit the DIS coils and spark plugs with no problem.
Besides, the engine bay looks so good with a nice flowing, custom set of wires.
Good luck with it.

Thank you Dave and JBO!

LAFN: If you buy kit number 31159 from MSD it comes with the right fittings
Basically you need one with Multi-angle plugs boots and Socket and HEI style for the coils. Those are the industry terms for what you need. Hope that helps. Let me know if you want the MSD kit. My supplier usually has it or the black version in stock.
