i thought about this to but what i finally decided is to boost its the best thing your gonna want to do if you want alot of power. or juice your car
Head work is basicly the best thing without having to completely rebuild the engine. Port and Polish, 3 or 5 angle valve job, 1mm oversized valves, solid rockers, stiffer springs.

thats more what i was thinking that way i could take it slower...i mean i don't have $2000 on the spot to do turbo plus i would need all the internals to so i would assume at the end i would spend about 4 grand plus tunning and what not....do y'all think after i swap a few internals I'd be able to Spray?
you can spray right now if u wanted too. 35 shot wont do any damage, 50 shot might wear the engine life down some, 75 shot i would say would be pushin it tho. Other people will disagree with me on that tho.
Nice ride by the way i like that alot.
i love my cavy to I'm just tired of people saying it looks fast and its slower than f*** right now... Y wouldn't a 35 shot hurt the engine??? its a pretty old engine about 125K on it yet still running strong you still think it could take the nitrous? i'm sorry i sound like a noob im really not i just never thought i would keep this engine so i never looked into it.
it would push the engine but not enough to do anything drastic like shot the piston out of the oil pan or anything. After a long time it would start to affect the engine but like a 75 shot would. I've given up on my 2.2. After riding in a bunch of high powered 600hp 'Stangs, Camaros and other powerful tuners and seeing people on this site dumpin 6gs into their 2.2 engines and barly breakin 300hp or 13s on the track i've given up. I'd rather build up and swap in a 3800 S/C.
the 96 computer also cannot be tuned. it needs to be replaced with a 97+ if you want to use hpt, or a 95- if you'd prefer burning your own eproms.

2000 bucks for a turbo? ll im getting my turbo for about 200 dollars and i have a friend that is gonna fabricate the manifold for me so im not lookin at 2000 bucks probbaly 700 at the most for me.
i know the turbo its self isnt much i can get ahold of one for about 150 its the pipeing and manafold and internals that add up...if i could get a full turbo kit 4 about 700 it would have been done a hell of a long time ago.

whats needed to replace the computer other than the computer itself ?
i dunno about the computer swaping but to kurtis hendrix your not gonna make a turbo kit with 700 lol You need alot more then just a manifold and turbo. Theres oil lines, fittings, piping , intercooler, fuel mods, tuning, new exhaust, guages, wiring, etc.. Theres alot to be done when turboin a car. After all that if you do it right your up to about 2000 or more plus the labor it takes to install it all.

$300 + tuning for me. Will be less than $600 for the turbo setup and fuel mods in the end.

is that because you have somesort of hook up or??
well i guess if you find alot of really good deals or alot of really old/used parts you could do it.
going cheap anit always the best way to go.
i know about the oil lines but im getting all the piping and exhaust and manifold done for free by my neighbor so all i need to really buy is turbo, intercooler, and oil lines basically and i dont even need the intercooler since i have dual intake but im gonna get it because ill have more airflow.
dual intake from what i here that dont help much but i guess your only boosting about 5psi. but not every one has neighbors that can put turbo kits together but good luck on ur build

Wow. That motor isn't going to last long...

Id say, headwork, and compression are your friend... If youre looking for serious knowledge, OHVNotec, and MadJack are the 2 people that I know of that can help a lot with the pushrod motors.
yeah sorry notec for the completley noobness involved in me i figured it out lol man i wish one of you guys lived by me
well thanks from what im hearing head work is the way to go could i go with nitrous and be safe?
