Hey guys, i have a 2000 z24 and i'm looking to increase my performance. No so much as buying a turbo/supercharger or anything yet. I already have a CAI, and full exhaust. (except i still have stock header). I was just wondering if i would notice a difference if i bought strut tower bar, and pulleys? Or would that not make much difference? Also how much of a gain will a aftermarket header get me? Any help advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

An aftermarket "EXHAUST MANIFOLD" will yield the greatest results, pulleys are next in line.
Strut mounts will give you more control and stiffness(the good kind) in cornering.
sorry, i mean my stock exhaust manifold! haha.

Bolt-ons alone won't net you a great deal of gains, but depending on what part you mod and how you mod it can actually have adverse affects to the performance of your car. Combining bolt-ons with good tuning will net the greatest results. A couple of other bolt-ons people have done to stock 2.4L's are the 2.3L HO intake manifold and 2.3L Throttle Body.

Get a header. It's going to net more power than any other bolt-on perofrmance part. Plus if you look around enough and bargain shop you can find a good quality header for cheaper than you can get a name brand intake, or an Unorthodox pulley, or RSM pulley.
I would recommend a header as well, but a pulley off ebay for about $40-50 shipped might be the best bang for the buck. unless you find someone selling a used header you are looking at spending close to $200 for a nice header (ceramic).

I just got a new pacesetter armor coated for $134.99 shipped. Gotta love ebay. I forgot about the bomz pulleys John, that's pretty good bang for the buck too.
I'm with kflo, and higgins... header is the best way to go right now. A header and exhaust will comlement each other. You should finish your exhaust system
okay, so i should go with a header. Which brand would be my better choice? also, would a 60mm 2.3 throttle body work on my 2.4? I've been doing tons of searching for parts here and there trying to decide whats my best route.

I would go with Pacesetter. 30mm TB off a 2.3???? never heard of it.

Could get a 2.3 HO mani with my flange, also the 56mm 2.3 TB is better than stock. The intake manis are cheap, look in the classifieds.

okay fella's.. here's the deal. i have a 2.4 sitting in my garage that's pecking.. i'm gonna buy the light weight wrist pins, eagle rod H beams, forged pistons. I already have a set of seceret cams on the way, gonna use my CAI, and exhaust that i already have, plus i have a pacesetter header on the way. Also got carbon fiber strut tower bar front + rear coming too. Now, the motor in my car is fine (2.4 also) but imma use it till i have the other one "built" and ready to put in. I'm thinking i may want to go S/C and use nitrous also. Please help me out with what all i'll need to make this happen. throw some input on what ration piston to use (ex. 8.5:1 , 9:1, 9.5:1, 10:1)And inform me about this team green MSD for the tranny.. will that alone allow my auto tran. to hold up? thanx in advance guys.. I'm gonna be hooked on tuning like a preacher on prayer!

Elaborate on what you mean be "hold up." It will spin both axles when launching so that you will risk less chance of breaking anything, as well as less torque steer (I think) and allowing for more consistent launches. The Team Green LSD that Brian (Speedracerz) sells is an insert, which makes your current differential simulate an LSD but is not a
TRUE Limited Slip Differential. Something else you may want to consider is a well built torque converter (i.e. Yank) which will actually allow your car to "hold on" to the greater amount of power you will be making.
