im looking for pics of intakes you all have from ebay on the dreaded 2200 motor. in most posts pretty much eeryone agrees that they work just fine. looking to see what some of them look like installed and maybe some links so i can make my decision on which one to buy. thanks. i waas going to buy one from scotty b in the classifieds but havent heard from him and want it soon.
ps i did search but didnt get much for the 2200 just a lot for the eco. thanks
i think long ram intakes are pointless... that one attaches to the air box above the throttle body... not directly to the throtle body then extends downwards...
id go for one of the cheaper 7 dollar ones if i were you.. its all the same...
im trying to find one that gets rid of the stock air box dont really care if its cold air or short ram. i guess i wont be buying that one. anyone else have any ideas??
none of them on ebay get rid of the stock 2200 box. ive asked all of them... there was one sell dr.speeedy his did but he has since sold his instock to k2 sports and they havent listed them for sale yet... so no luck ebay way.
I dont have any pics of my old 2200 but basically buy the cheapest intake on ebay with an iat bong. Intakes are intakes are intakes. And with all intakes you have to remove the stock air box either way so just pick one. imo cold airs are a waste anyway so just find you a nice short ram.
i guess i should be more specific. lol i know that any intake will replace the airbox for the fiter but i was hoping to get rid of the ugly plastik box that says 2200 on it. i think im just gonna get the cheapest short ram on there if none of them get rid of that other than the brand names like aem that go for more tan $200. im not building a racecar here so it shouldnt matter
why not go for a real aem cai.. I think they make them for those 2200

im not looking to spend that much.
The ebay ones are fine.. They do remove your stock airbox and snorkel.. You will need to modify the pipe that has the sensor in it.. You have to drill the hole bigger and cut the pipe for the filter, sort of a piss off but it does the trick for cheap
Its hard to find an intake for the 2200 that actually gets rid of the whole air box, considering ebay doesnt really show EXACT pictures of the piping. I actually did mine with 2 intake pipes, one from ebay n one from autozone lol. But it works out great, sumhow it had the perfect angle to it.null
this is the intake I bought off off ebay
n this is the intake after I put both pipes 2gether....U cant really see it cuz the pipe is black but it is connecting to the TB
the one thing that sucked ass was the intake from ebay didnt really have a place to put the brackets so I had to "custom" fit the brackets sumhow as U can see from the picture, it sux ass but its holding it up.
no more cavy...now 240 =]
I see a cool-air intake
It's got a NOS-fogger system and a T-4 turbo
I see an A.I.C. controller
It has direct port nitrous injection
Yeah, a stand-alone fuel management system
...Not a bad way to spend $10,000
00Cavy_ could you please tell me how you made your intake? what parts did you use and what intake from ebay is that? a list of everything you used would be awesome!!!
pretty simple, the 1st intake I bought was a straight pipe n the rubber coupling was bent so sum degree (not sure the exact angle)...which is the 1st intake picture....2)I bought another intake pipe from AutoZone so I can try to finish off the piping from the TB....only thing was that I needed a smaller bend on the pipe. 3)I bought an intake for my uncle cuz he has the same cavy as mine only his intake pipe already had a curve on it....but since his intake pipe didnt have the hole for the IAT sensor I took it n I cut the part of the pipe that bends.
I placed the black pipe with the bend on the TB n connected then after a few times of tinkering, we managed to fit the piping right. I still have the straight pipe but I used it as scrap to see how spray paint would be on it, I tried spraying it a metallic blue color....it looked nice but since I over-sprayed the paint n didnt clean the pipe it did look like the paint was running. I wanted to paint all the piping blue so it can go with the car...cuz I wanted a black n blue scheme, black outside n blue inside..even with LED's.
So as far as materials, 2 intake pipes with prolly a almost 90 degree bend, few couplers to hold the piping, and I think bout 3 rubber couplings or w/e there called. Since it was ebay intakes its kina hard to show which 1 it was considering they dont have exact pictures.
So juss find atleast 2 pipes that have a 50-90 degree bend (or atleast enough bend to reach over the engine n not touch the hood!) n juss use ur imagination on how U want it mounted. Again IM not exact on the degrees for the bend so like I said use ur imagination n take an estimate on the degree U need!
Also, when you cut the pipe, MAKE SURE YOU FILE THE EDGES DOWN!!! Becuz if U dont, U will get lil metal chips flowing into the intake and THAT IS BAD! Also the rough edge prolly mite cut the rubber coupling.

timler that looks like thats going to sit really high...
yea im rethinking it. but like i said worst case if it doesnt fit it will go on the womans jeep.
you could always go to an exhaust shop and get the bend made...
well i went cheap and just got an ebay one. the cheapest one i could find. oh well.
It would sit high. I had the same issue with my intake. I have an older LN2 but it's the same concept. Actually my intake was for a 2200 and I just cut off the bend that would go to the TB on the 2200, did a little trimming, and viola.
To make my filter clear the hood I just used a piece of the stock intake as a coupler, and a 6" piece of 3" exhaust pipe to extend the filter over to the fender at a slight downward angle. Without this extension the filter sat right above the tranny and hit the hood. I could close the hood, but it'd rip the filter off.
i wanted to get rid of my 2200 box over the tb too... but the more i think about it the more i think ill just get a cheap ebay intake and call it a day...
btw timler which one did you get...
anythings better than stock...
make sure to provide me some pics so i know how the install went... i havent got one yet (waiting till after christmas) so please post pics of install and how it was...
i will do that. hope it comes in soon
