so..if he cps isnt reading it wont run at all? right
what if its reading wrong? or better yet..does it take a few minutes for the cps to start reading like the other sensors do? or does it start right off?

if it's off a little the timing will be off and it will run like garbage. that's why I am doing the crank mod on mine. it's a more straight up solution than drilling the holes in the block. Besides, I have the equipment at work needed to move the slot the right amount.

Just a thought but if you have the equipment to modify the cranks hotbug, prove you can do it right, then sell that crap. Personally thats the biggest part preventing me from seriously thinking about this. I would love 250+hp N/A. My .02

No profit in selling the modded cranks, it's a straight forward mod.

Find the offset notch, fill it and machine out the new notch in the crank. You need it balanced anyway if you are going all out.

I have all the stuff at work to do the mod, I can do it on my own time when the tool room is open. I'm not in the tool room, so I am not able to work on cranks at any given time.

Now, if I had my own shop, I'd be on it in a heartbeat.

K, it was just a thought. There aren't too many peps who will actually do this so there probably wouldn't be a profit anyway. I probably will do the 086 head and 2.3 pump swap insead, sounds almost as good and less work. Keep it up scott. More pics and vids!

to be honest...if you can get a machine shop to drill the hole right without hitting an oil gally you can put the cps in pretty easy..i did it right my first time ..the trick is to put a metal spacer on the end of the magnet on the cps and let it rest on the crank..then secure the cps where it sits..after its secure you can reach in the block and remove the spacer and youll have the proper cps gap...but i would never drill the hole myself ..and speaking of pics i should have more soon since ive currently got the engine apart AGAIN for the SECOND time with bent valves ...hope i can get some new ones soon and get it back together and running right

lol my friend an HO quad eats rice day and night as it is....doing this simply puts it in a bigger league...personally i like pony meat if you catch my drift

How did you bend the valves? Screw rice, its going to eat WRX's, ruststangs, and probably STi's and Evo's from a roll. Nice, Keep it up.

A quad eats most V6's all day long. Grand Prixs, Mustang, and Camaro. Kinda makes the GTO guys go "WTF" when they think it's going to be real easy and the cocky little j-body puts up more of a fight.

The stroker just puts more V8's on the list.

And yeah, Scott, did that single row timing mess up on ya? or was it from the oiling issue?

ya know....im not really sure....its REALLY weird...i had one valve in each cylenders 1 and 3 completly @!#$ up...dont know how...but they are bent like hell and stuck open...let me a little reminder on the top of the pistons too..glad i went all out on those forged pistons or i might be in trouble....josh says hes got me new valves on the way though..so as soon as i get them in i should have the motor back together that day...i have pics ill post soon
