Quote for an engine, and Q's
Monday, May 22, 2006 2:23 PM
Hey all, I'ts been a while since I posted last but I figured I'd get some input on a few things. First off I'm looking into building the engine I have currently in the cavy. Its a 2002 2200 60k miles and still running strong, but it lacks abit in power compared to driving the 2003 eco my brother and sister share. All I'm looking to get out of the motor for now is 150-160hp and still be a reliable daily driver. Right now I'm pricing around town and online for a p&p port matched head job, upgraded rockers, cam regrind by crane or compcams, upgraded pushrods, and eagle connecting rods. What I want to know is, is this a good deal on a 2200 engine.

Its from a recked 2002 40k miles, doesn't have oil leakage or burns on the block, head gasket still looks decent not that I wouldn't replace it after rebuilding, still runs and idles same range as mine 600-800 (auto 4speed) and for $450. Now that I'm thinking about it I think this quote is just the engine, not with the tranny. The eco's the junkyard had for sale were all in the 50k mile range and were going for 1500+.. I'd rather work with whats familiar anyway.

Only new photo, still need to clear the tails but heres my best shot at smoothing out the rear end factory color is a bit dull still.
