HO swap Intake issues..
Wednesday, April 12, 2006 1:50 PM
So I got this civic intake from ebay that I was told fits.. As you can see from the pic it doesn't even come close to fitting the angle at the TB is not nearly enough of a bend the battery comes into play and its too long... Does anyone have good pics of there intake setup. Is there any intake you can buy that does fit?

Oh ya and even if this one had a 90 degree bend it still hits at the top where the filter is

What if you cut the pipe, so that there is only two nipples on it. It looks like that would fit.

also the IAC sensor doesn't fit in the intake hole so I guess I just gotta dripp that nipple off and make the hole a little bigger right?

LMAO, who in the hell told you to use a civic intake. Get yourself a cheap S-shaped intake off ebay, and a 90 degree coupler, or get yourself the full intake for the 2.4 and cut it down to fit.

K this one seems to be a decent price with shipping and the actual cost... If I can't modify the one I already have I'll go with this one.

If you're relocating your batter you can use that intake.

But like 97 said, stick with the 2.4L ebay intakes.
The ones that look like AEM's design.

They have some black ones on there for like $9.99+ shipping.

Either way, you'll have to do some cutting.
Get an el cheapo hasksaw and blades and you'll be set to cut.

NO, just get one for a cavalier with the 2.4L

S-Shaped one

Longer one that you could cut down

Now notice my intake, it was one of the long ones, i took the 90 degree coupler that comes with it, and then cut the intake tube down to just a J shape (the the 90 degree coupler it makes an S shape).
