The little white wire...

An interesting question... It seems to have become the industry standard to make the tach lead a white wire. Now, i have the wiring scheme for the 96 2.2, and there is most definatelly a white wire coming from the pcm. Could this be the tach lead and could i use this to get a signal for an aftermarket gague?

If you have the wiring diagram, why don't you just look it up? I can almost guarentee you that isn't it though, for GM cars its usually pink.

Unfortunatelly all it says is that there's a white wise going from the pcm to the ecu... There must be a wire that carries a signal from the ignition module to the ecu... But the wires are not labeled... Even on the diagram... But on the 2.4 and ecotec it says it's white. On the ln2 the white wire just goes to the ignition module

IIRC there 'should' be 2 white wires coming off the ICM. One for the tach and one for the computer.
