Skylark 2.3 Intake

Well today i found a 95 2.3l .. i got the intake cam it was the hex fitting for the power stearing i just need to know if this is the right camshaft ? in the sticky it only mention the z24 sunfire gt and achieva of having the secret intake cam...

itll work..as long as it was a 95 2.3

Check for a "half lobe" in the middle of the cam. It will line up with where your cam position sensor is on your intake cam cover (the sensor right above the fuel rail...) If it has it, it's definately the right cam.

But if it has the hex drive for the pump then, I'm pretty sure you got the right one, all the other 2.3's came with a belt driven power steering, IIRC.

Okkkk Great!!!! it does have the half lobe thing and the hex fitting for the power steering ! i just wasent sure because the lifters were smaller than the ones i got from the Grand am exhuast side... Thank alot

something else should i use the exhuast cam housing with the bigger lifters ?

I would use my stock lifters. Did you get the HO exhaust cam or the LO? Both are good to use, I believe the HO gives a rougher idle and a bit more power. Don't quote me on that though, it's been a while.

I think if you are using the HO, you have to use the housing and possibly the lifters. If you can spin the cam freely in your stock housing, you are ok. If your stock lifters fit, use those. I would rather have the newer lifters.
