Ok i have my Autometer electronic fuel pressure gauge hooked up in my car and i have it tapped intot the fuel rail on my ecotec. I have the wire that should be connected to an ignition source hooked into teh fuse box where it says IGN MDL. Im reading a constant pressure or 59 psi which is think is too high. I tested it to see if the pressure would rise when i pulled the vac line off the FPR and it stayed at the same place. I think i might have the wire hooked up in the wrong place. Where should i tap this wire into to get a constant ignition signal??? I need qucik help here cause i need this to tune my turbo soon.
Its not supposed to be an ignition signal, its supposed to be an ignition "hot" wire. It has voltage when the ignition is on. You may have done some damage to both the gauge and the ECM by hooking it up where you did.
Well where can i get the "Hot signal" your talking about to see if the gauge still works?
Ok i searched and i found a post about just hooking it up to the wire that i have my aftermarket head unit tapped into the ignition which is the brown thick wire under the dash. Would this work for the gauge's "Hot ignition wire"?
Ok heres another question. I just talked to Metalliccavy on this site with teh same gague and his works fine tapped into the IGN MDL fuse. But should my pressure rise on my gague when i unhook the vac line off my stock FPR or would it stay constant? BEcause i have no other way to check if the gauge is working since it is constant all the time.
59 psi on a eco , is about right
and im guessing that you dont have the vacuum signal hooked up to the fpr , which would drop it to low 50's
all the eco's ive tested the fuel pressure on have been low 50 to 60 psi
