I installed a racing header on my 00 cavy over the summer and had to relocate my o2 sensor. The sensor is now about 6 - 12" from its original location. Does anyone know if there is an adapter for the wiring harness or know of a way to lengthen the factory harness?
I have the OBX racing header for the 2200 series engine, and it is the first o2 sensor that had to be relocated. It had to be moved so far because the port in the exhaust line on my new header was farther from the wiring harness than the factory one.
I asked this same question last week. Couple of weeks ago I installed my OBX on my 2200, I cut and lengthened the wire. Doing some research which I should have done before the install, I found out that lengthening it is a bad idea (stupid me). Anyways, I was adised to cut open the wire loom that the o2 wire, along with all the other wires run through, and re-route the o2 wire. The loom is huge, you cant miss it. Sure enough, when you re-route the wire under the car instead of to the exhaust manifold(where it ran before, there is more than enough wire to make it to the new location.
Just be VERY carefull when re-routing the wire, there are alot of wires in that loom
o2 relocate
Good Luck!!!
