2.5 custom intake pipe.

im trying to make my own intake on my 97 sunfire gt. The throttle body is 2.75 across(so i've heard) and i want a 2.5 intake piping. BUT i can't find any way to get a 2.75-2.5 90degree elbow.
has anyone found anything like that or have any other means of doing this.? I've looked at Intake hoses .com and couldn't find one.
I just think that anything more than 2.5 is kinda big for an intake on our cars. Unless someone can convince me otherwise>
and are there any aftermarket ones that come with a 2.5 intake pipe?

check out High Temp Silicone

they should have a 90 bend reducer that would help you out.

Well, the stock tubing fits over a 3" cone filter, although it does have all those walls and crap inside creating turbulence. Despite that, I think that down-sizing the pipe by 1/2" diameter would really not accomplish anything. You'd need special adapter to fit the TB, another one to fit the filter, and all just so you can have a smaller-than-stock pipe.... I don't know the 2.4 TB size, but I know that the 2200 (what I have) TB is 3" on the outside, and that's where you clamp your intake to, so I'm guessing the 2.4 has to be at least 3" at the outside walls as well. 2.75" is the inside diameter.

I have to agree ^^^

The last thing you want to do is UNDER feed your throttle body. If you force too MUCH air at it, there won't be any adverse affects--it'll just accept as much as it can.

And if I understand right, you're trying to find a rubber elbow that's a diff. size on each end? Not gonna happen. But rubber DOES expand and contract. You can clamp a coupler down and/or increase it up to at least .5" with ease.

If you want to go aftermarket, I can make pretty much any size/spec intake you could possibly want in .5" increments. Let me know!
