Now i was thinking of getting new pistons and rods, but i need some help, what compression is the best for boost and whats the most boost i can run with that compression on a stock tranny with a stage 3 spec and spec flywheel??? this would be on a 99 z24.......

THERE IS NO MOST!!! Why can people not understand this. MOST is a term that needs to be thrown out of the language used around here 99% of the time.
Example...ask Hahn what the most boost they could run on the stock valve train was and I think you get an answer of around 17-19PSI. ask me and I'll tell you 15-16 PSI. Every car and tuning setup is different hence there is no MOST number that anyone could give you that would be right.

Anyways now that I'm done ranting...8.5-9:1 compression is good for boost. Some people go lower and some go higher though. The Spec should get you into the high teems in boost but once again this depends on your driving style and abilities among other things.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

Maybe you can clarify this a bit.

What turbo are you running and whats your altitude? Once you have these and a compressor map for that turbo you can figure out the efficiency range for yourself, so you'll know how much boost your car can handle, before the turbo is out of efficiancy. assuming of course your car CAN handle it. With a built bottom end it should be able to take a bit, but yea, your diff's gonna be the weakest link at that point.
