JBP Stage III Eco Cams
Thursday, February 23, 2006 7:18 PM
So I finally got my car back after so much bull@!#$ from a shop. Going back there tomorow to bitch because my $400 radar wasn't in my car when I recieved it. But anyways, they installed my JBP Stage III cams and a 62mm throttle body, and so far I've only driven normally (not going over 4000 rpm) and I've noticed a good amount of difference. But I heard that these cams are supposed to really help my top end so I won't know that until tomorow night. Most likely I'm going to race at least once tomorow night, so I'll tell you how it goes. Or if not, I'll cruise down the highway and see how the top end runs.

I'll update either tomorow night or Saturday.

Oh after inspection on Saturday, I'm removing my converter to put in a test pipe, I'll update gains from that Saturday night or Sunday.

Didn't go over 4,000rpm yet, but I can hear the cams clearly from my exhaust when I'm idling.. sounds pretty intimidating.

Doesn't say, they're keeping it a secret. Couldn't race today, rain was pouring down like crazy.

I have my test pipe put in and muffler taken off.. no backpressure and so loud, but crazy top end. I'm getting my muffler put on asap after school monday, but keeping my test pipe. Got my inspection sticker this morning =] 5% TInt front windows passed... $15 extra bucks.

Keep you posted on the cam gains though, by latest I'll race monday night. Forecast is dry for the next week so rain won't be able to stop me like today.. how gay though.

So I put my muffler back on and I'm glad to have my torque back. But umm, I think the cams will get the full potential if my car was tuned, that's probably something I really need right now.

Umm... these are probably the same the new LZM Stage II cams... which have been around for a good 8-9 months. Oh wait, JBO doesnt like LZM so who cares.

Oh yeah, no CELs with my old style LZM Stage II cams and GMR adj. cam gears with an extra degree of lobe seperation.

Oh... and JBP probably doesnt know the specs and if they do, they're probably wrong. Gotta love Colt (the mfr) and his paranoid ways.

i have a set of LZM tri-flow cams and i'm more than happy with them. you guys still made power did you not? you need to re-learn how to drive your car with a drastic power band change. flame me if you will but LZM has been nothing but awesome to me and i'll reccomend them anyday. but ya, all the cams are probly close to the same (colt makes all of LZM's cams to my knowledge) so your just crying over spilled milk, learn to drive your damn car

What everyone did notice, is that my car is louder and it actually smells bad, from the muffler, now.

damn you must be stupid or something. like me when I bough their stage 2 cams. It has nothing to do with learning how to drive the car. The fact that your power band changes doesn't automatically make your car faster. If you're so confident that you got gains with them, then show us track times or a dyno.

i dont have a before dyno sheet, nor have i had a good night at the track since i had them installed (went a couple times fairly unprepared since the track is about 5 mins from my house and i can basically go at will) if i did have either to show you i would. as for being stupid i'm far from it but if you want to think that i could say plenty of things i dont actually know about you as well

I dont think anoxion knows about the old stage IIs... BTW, my old stage IIs work just fine, no misfire codes... car feels faster than my old 14.996second LD9... and the fact their a couple cars out there that have run these cams _FINE_.

I'd bet money the new LZM Stage IIs are the same exact cams that JBP is marketing as their Stage IIIs. Oh well, if ya wanna take it in the popper paying an extra couple hundred for the JBP stuff... when you can buy the exact same stuff from levelzero all the power to ya.

i know a bit about the old stage two cams, the tri-flows are a completely different style. they're not 1/4 mile designed, they're a street cam, which is what most ppl want anyway, but flame away, i'm happy with my cams, i noticed a definate increase and when i get to a dyno this year i'll give you guy some numbers, but unfortunately i didnt get a baseline run before the cams

the thing is there hasn't been one eco cams release which has had proven gains (not proven by vendor). Believe me I'd be very happy if there were some good cam options for our cars (even though I'm not buying them because of future boost), but I just haven't seen any yet.

You, sir, are an uneducated moron.

First off, Mev cuts his own cams. In house. I've seen it myself.

SECOND OFF, his cams have nothing to do with LZM or any other manufacturer.

Lastly, he has 3 dyno sheets stamped to the wall of his office of his new tri-flow ecotec cams. 24 whp gain from 2000 rpm to redline.

Just becuase you're a LZM leghumper it doesn't give you the right to slander JBP or any other company on the market. Mev's cams are guaranteed to throw not a single code.

So the next time you feel like throwing some of your uneducated garbage around maybe you should think about what you're saying, because right now you're coming off as a friggin' idiot.

I'll take your bet, and your money. You tell me how much and I'll get a photo of his shop where the cam is being cut. Put up or shut up, fool.
