low temp thermo- superfluous or actually useful?

Is it even worth it to install this? I have actually noticed a tiny little performance boost when my engine is nearing full temperature. but it seems like this thermostat would make your fan run more often, causing it to A. wear out quicker and B. suck more juice off the alternator, which is very slightly detrimental to your performance..

Anyone done this mod?

Sadly, no more..

but I think that would be made up by the fact that cooler engines run better.... right? Isnt the whole idea of an intercooler, alcohol, etc to cool the engine? I bought one, just haven't had the time to put it in. I can't see how it could be a bad thing. Tho, I think it will make more of a difference on a boosted engine than a NA

The thermostat will just open sooner, since it's 180 instead of .. (I don't remember the number) It will keep the engine a "little" colder and it can't hurt performance.

that t-stat can open whenever it wants if the fan doesn't kick on at the temp the t-stat does you won't get anything out of it

the only time you might see anything happen is at hyway speeds when air is being forced through the front of your car at like 60mph. but all you will see is the temp gauge go down a little and I dobt at all you will go any faster. only a few cars truly benifit from running at a lower temp then stock.
