I had an RKsport 4-2-1 Header on my car with and AEM intake and just a tanabe exhaust. When the car hit about 4000rpm it actually sounded like a vtec. Anyone else have this header that noticed it too?
No dude, my Vtec kicks in at 3000rpm.

i know its not coming from the intake cause i bought the intake way before the header and it never made it with just that
ive got one of those bomb ass vtec controllers and mine kicks in when i hit the 300 shot of nitrous right off the line with my stock axles and 25" slicks

The one, the only, ME.
I have no clue how it makes the noise. I wish i could have recorded the sound of it.. Its real close to the sound of a vtec which is really wierd. i hit the rev limiter when being under the hood and it makes the same noise. it sounds like its coming from where the down pipe connects to the rest of the exhaust. I thought it was an exhaust leak or something but i checked and its all fine..hmm
Are you drunk or high or something tonight? Yours posts have been off the wall. BTW, I just reset my vtec controller to, now it comes in at 4000 like yours! Much better performance all the way to 140mph.

Can you please post, or try to explain, what a VTec sounds like? Like use some kick ass like 'vrrrrrooom' things?
I think I might be able to fully understand once I see that!
Thanks!!

Sounding like v-tec is kind of an obscure saying...
At 4000 RPMs, you're in your powerband, that's why it might sound strong. When people are "in Vtec" they are in their powerband...same thing, different motors, different times of engaging.

Sorry, I don't hang out with little wieners and their Civic's...thus I'm still awaiting what one sounds like.

Sorry Shawn. In college, no time to listen to VTecs!! And in this hick town I'm in, I don't think anyone can afford a Honda with a VTec.
