Cosmo Intake finally working for the ecotec?
Saturday, January 21, 2006 8:15 PM
I was wondering if anyone has purchased an ECOTEC cosmo racing intake lately? I am aware that in the past they were selling 2.4L intakes to ecotec customers, and there was hood clearence issues. They then said they were gonna remake it for the ecotec. WELL... has anyone bought this "new" ecotec model and tried it out yet??? It is a NICE looking ecotec intake for under $100 CAN....so i would love to get one.

Thanks alot!

It's been talked about...read these:

By the way...as I did a search, you've started atleast 2 threads before this one asking about it...you still that unsure? I say if you're that unsure, just spend the money on a Weapon-R intake that you know will fit your motor properly. You can check them out at www.definedparts.com.

OH and another thing. That definedparts website is pretty expensive compared to cosmo. I live in Canada... so it is far to pricey to bring stuff in from the states.

Thanks anyways.

SO anyone have any new info on the cosmo ecotec intake?

Well someone would assume you didn't initially because someone likes me has seen this topic come up before. I mean, it's just an intake, not a turbo kit that was re-designed...if 4 or 5 months ago there was an issue, 99% chance is that it's still a problem, especially a semi-no name company like them that is making a very generic part.

It was just an option. Spending $100 and some change on an intake isn't that bad when you know it fits your vehicle with no problems. I personallly would rather spend the extra money for the insurance of no headache.

Hey, man I installed it just the other day, and I'm telling you it was ballz to intstall, apin in the ass. Clearance is very tight, and when the hood closed it was pressing on the throtle cable. So inother words it was like the throtle cable was being pulled even when the pedal was released. Not a hard problem to solve. Just had to sand down the top of the plastic piece where the cable hooks onto. Let me know I can send you some pics so you can see what kind of a pain it is. Took a few hours but seems to be ok now. Also wasn't sure how the clutch fluid resevoir hooked up with the brackets they sent so I had to custom make one.
