ok so i did a port and polish on my 96 2.2 engine this week everything went nice after the car started but now i have a little bit less go when i step on it if i am stopped . The good thing is after 50 kmh the car pulls like it never did before looks like i gained all top end power by doing this!
I am planning on putting on an header and full 2.25 exhaust line and 1.6:1 roller rocker on the car this spring/summer
What can i do to gain back some low end power?
Put a stock head back on it...
Seriously... when you P&P, you move the power band upwards. So increasing the top end while you lose a bit of bottom end.
Once you get the better breathing parts on there, it'll give you even more power... but you won't get that stock bottom end back, unless you go back to a stock head.
Or use other power-adders... like boost or nitrous

Or change your gearing.
i was planning on a shift kit for the tranny but it still has a 1 1/2 year warrantee left on it so i wont put that in for now!
bump up the compression ratio in the engine, will give you more bottom end power and top end...
