Honing / boring stress plate

Well, its come down to the time were I'm getting ready to bore the block that Protomec gave me. My question to you guys out there who have had there blocks (2.3/2.4L's) bored is, did your machinist use a stress (honing/boring) plate for the machining? Or did they just bore the block without it. There is somebody that I caught wind of in my area that is building a 2.3 or 2.4L with an eagle crank and all internals and has machined his block WITHOUT a stress plate. I myself from past experiences with diesels that DON'T have sleeves, we've always used stress plates for machining. My problem this time around is finding a stress plate for my block (2.3L). I am considering making my own stress plate at work, but need the bore locations. The reason why I'm asking this is because I've called around to a lot of engine machine shops and none of them have a stress plate for the 2.3/2.4 blocks. So really what I am asking, is for those of you who have had there blocks bored without stress plates, how does your compression checkout and would you ever bore your block without stress plate again?

Com'n guys, how many of you that have had engine build ups that you've decided on over boring your blocks? I mean, did you use a boring plate or did they bore without it??
And if your machinist didn't, did he advise you that he wasn't going to????

I went .040' ' machine shop said not to use a deckplate on a stock hone because it will remove to much meterial. But it is highly recamended to use one on an overbore to ensure straightness of the cylinder, after the cylinder head is torqued into place during final assembly.
