I am finishing up my turbo kit and looking for a HO intake. All I can find is a LO. Would this be better than my stock plastic 2.4 intake. I will be running about 8-10 psi. GM charger reflash, GM SC injectors and MAP, T3/T4 .60 A/R intake .48 A/R Exhaust, RFL BOV, 2 1/2" hot and cold intercooler pipes. full mandrel bent 2 1/2" exhaust with magnaflow resonator and muffler.
youll be fine with the stock intake
the LO or HO do kinda make the piping easier to get into the tb
and being turbo both will work
the LO w/TB dynoed a gain over the stock intake..dont know how much more the HO is over that but the LO is definetly better

i just bought a lo manifold for my 97, i heard it was better than stock but not as good as ho
hugs and hand pounds, peace
you're better off with the HO... personally I think it's worth finding. have you tried http://www.car-part.com?
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
yeah i think the LO gained hp but lost a little bit of torque, where as the HO gained both hp and TQ... i've got a LO mani and 56mm t/b but dont think im gonna bother installing em....
i dont know if the slight lose in TQ would make much of a diff, since i think it was only 1 ft. lb or whatever it lost... do a search and you'll find the post where someone dyno'd the LO mani....
ive got an ho manifold off a w41 w/ tb for sale

Yo streetfighter I'm gonna shoot you an email on that.

these are not "OPINIONS" i just suck at searching...but i remember ver clearly the post a while back a member made after dyno testing his LO manifold on his 2.4 ..he got 10 hp and lost like 1lb torque....and since the HO manifold is WELL KNOWN to give better gains on a quad (or 2.4) of course we would suggest that as preference

i cant remember what it was titled..did anyone else find it??

nice one scott... i was looking for it too since i'm debating if i should put on my LO mani, but i dunno, i like the low end that the cavys have... but i dont think the small loss of tq would make that much difference do you?
personally i dont think 1 or 2 lbs or torque are gonna make that much of a difference ..especially when your gaining 11 hp! and everyone keeps saying hold out for a HO mani but you have to realize the aspect of over kill...the HO mani was designed for the HO engine which has HUGE ports compared to the 2.4/2.2 ...so what i mean is do you need a HUGE manifold to get gains or just a LARGER manifold..get what im saying?? (maybe not hehe)

long time no see scott, how is texas treating ya.
anyways to the topic at hand. i had a turbo in my cav with the ho and 62mm rsm tb. it worked very will. sad to sat though i had a crazy old hag plow right into my car about a onth ago. now i am selling most every thing off of it including the TB and manifold already fitted to match the head bolt pattern. i will give them both to ya for 200 shipped. send me an e-mail if you are intersted.
dude sorry to hear..that sucks..that was one of my favorite cavs

So your OPINION is based on one car (with unknown modifications), one dyno run, and one post. And beyond that, one post that is 3 pages long with repeated requests for an actual sheet that were never responded to.

BTW, I am not argueing for or against either manifold.
I am just asking for some definite and sustantial evidence before making a decision and then before making a recommendation.

would you feel better if i went and photoshoped a dyno sheet and say it was a LO manifold? point its..post was made..most of us took his word for it...and since the LO quad comes with a Larger TB and Larger intake ports it only makes since that the intake manifold would would be larger and better flowing...not that i personally care cus i drive a HOquad and no longer have use for LO parts
