i also had another question. what exactly does the reflash do for the car once its turboed and how much does it normally run?

The only people that do reflashes is JBP (personally I wouldn't recommend it), and its supposed to remap your fuel and spark tables to provide more or less fuel/spark timing. Basically retuning your car. JBP charges $500, you have to send them your ECU, and they send it back, you have to do that for each change.

Map sensor works by sending out a voltage based on what the pressure is...
1 Bar is 0-5v
2 Bar is 0-5v
3 Bar is 0-5v
So, if the ECU is calibrated for a 2 bar sensor, and you use a 3 bar map sensor, the voltage would be wrong. So when you were at 1.5 bar, you would be sending 2.5V, but the ECU would think you are sending 1 bar, since on a 3 bar, 2.5v is 1.5 bar, and on a 2 bar map sensor, 2.5v is 1 bar.

how much are the 2 bar sensors and where do you get them. mine just came with the msd so i have no idea.

There is a GM part number if you search for it, in the boost forum. Its quite expensive though, and I don't know if you can use one from a different manufacturer, although I don't see why you couldn't as long as its a 2 bar, 0-5v signal with a 5v reference.

hey guys where can i pick up a 2 bar map sensor for my 2.4 1999
so if i didnt get the reflash and sensor and just went with the fuel upgrades which include a fuel pump, adj. fmu, adj. fpr, wide band and ford brown tops. would i be ok for 6-8 psi or would the reflash and sensor be a good idea?

You can't just put a 2 bar map sensor on, for the same reasons I posted above, you don't have an ECU that can be calibrated to a 2 bar map sensor.
Soon-
Yeah, I'd even be willing to say that you'd be running pretty rich at those PSI's.

i know lean is bad. isnt too rich bad too. shouldnt i be able to tune it a little better with the above mentioned parts?
"IF YOU PERSIST IN DOING WHAT YOU HAVE ALWAYS DONE .....

Yeah, but I know a guy (sunfightergt) with that setup, plus an SAFC-II, and he runs pig rich at idle with the safc pulling as much fuel as he can. Too rich does rob power, and can burn out your cat, but its safer than being lean and burning holes through your pistons.

and the reflash and map sensor fixes all that?

i did notice two things by reading your profile. what are you using beside the safc that im not to control fuel. second, where did you get you downpipe flange because i have the same flange bolt pattern that you have.
"IF YOU PERSIST IN DOING WHAT YOU HAVE ALWAYS DONE .....

I don't have anything else than what is listed, the one time I got it to boost before the turbo crapped out, I hit 5psi and the thing was still damn rich (in the 10's). The SAFC can't control fuel when your in boost anyway, so I just use it for idle tuning.
The flange we picked up from CarQuest of all places. There are 2 types of 3 bolt flanges like that, and one of them (the more common one) has a smaller inner diameter than mine. We found a 3 bolt flange that bolted up to my turbo and went with that.
