which cat do u think has the better quality and performance? Magnaflow or the RKsport cat?
Magna flow makes their cats now you just need to find out who makes RK's.
But the Magna flow ones are good never had experence with the RK piece.

just drill out your stocker and get an 02 sim :-) not even a higflow can flow that much, and NO you will not lose torque that is an old wives tale.

If it's not gutted properly it can effect the flow of your exhaust. Honestly, our catalytic converters flow pretty well stock but that's not why you should change it out. You should change it out to keep up the matching of the piping diameter (example: if you upgrade your piping to 2 1/4", you should get a 2 1/4" inlet catalytic converter). If you don't, that will be your restrictive point on your exhaust system.

true, I had to fully remove my cat to gut it properly then I took it to the auto parts store and found a pipe that would fit inside of it and hammered it in to prevent turbulence, but it made a big difference, its alot cheaper than buying a highflow, I have 2.5" catback so technically the restrictive part of my exhaust is the catalyst but it flows plenty for me, I will post a sound clip soon.
BUT, The fact that the cat opens up to a rather large diameter before it hits the catalyst area means that their is no restriction so its just a waste of money to hollow out a cat anymore. I mean seeing how they flow 99% efficient of a straight pipe and a 2 1/2 inch
diameter exhaust can flow enough to support a forced induction car with a displacement such as ours to well into the 300 hp range then the only reason to hollow it out would be if your running almost 400 hp. In the end its just not worth the headache
buy a 2 1/2 inch cat and run your O2 sensor it works great and you'll have no problems as long as you run a good cat. Stay away from CATCO from what I've heard they blow and will throw a code. MAGNA FLOW won't.
Good luck with your new cat.
P.S. just remember to get it fixed and get it all its shots and don't let it be an outside cat cause they get ran over.

i have a carsound cat. been working pretty darn good

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
well, i mainly needed to get a new one because mine is screwed up and is throwin codes so i figured i would get one that would help performance wise.
I love my magnaflow. And yes they are right. RK Sport = Magnaflow. Just slap a new sticker on it and sell it for twice the price!
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

Larger diameter in and out. AKA more flow. Same catilist inside just more pipe going in and out if it.

if you use your stock exhaust like 1 and 1/2 inch with the high flow cat will it make a difference
It will help, but is much more benifical if you have a complete cat back. That is when there is a big difference.
