Ok... Everything is installed...
Now the O2 sensor is in the tube.. how far do you have to put it, because I am getting a check engine light...
reset the PCM and see if that helps--- is what I found by searching, but how do I do that...
Any help.. thanks guys!!!!!

um, the O2 Sensor goes in the exhaust. The light might be on cause you ran the car without it plugged in, or damaged it. Go to Autozone, and have the light checked, its free, and they can tell you what it is.
We Means the MAF- Just push it i as far as it gos- it should just pop in-
If you're talking about the sensor that goes in the intake tube you should just be able to push it in there, also to reset the PCM disconect the battery for about 10 minutes then connect it back.
ok.... theres a clip on the O2 sensor and it wont go all the way in.... do i force it in or just as far as it goes, because it's not all the way in the tube.... The clip part is attached to the rubber tube that I put around the hole of the intake where the O2 sensor goes in...
So what I guess i'm trying to say is... does the whole O2 sensor have to go inside the tube so a little bit of the wire is in as well????

I can pull mine out and it will still not set off a CEL, but we have completly different motors
its an IAT sensor for gods sake..... INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE.... 3rd gen J-bodys don't have mass airflow (MAF sensors, and the OXYGEN (O2) sensor is in the EXHAUST!!!
Anyway, it should just seat in there, and should only throw a code if its broken (putting out voltages that are way out of whack), or if you turned the ignition on with it unplugged. Try making sure its plugged in, then disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 2 minutes. Reconnect the terminal and then start the car, the code will be out unless the problem (whatever it is) is still present. How far into the tube it is shouldn't make enough of an effect to immediately throw a code. If that doesn't work take it to autozone and get the code read so you know you're not barking up the wrong tree.

It should be like that :
There's no MAF on our cars, it's a MAP (Manifold Air Pressure)
It's a @!#$ IAT (intake air temp) SENSOR, hell someone even posted that!
Not a MAP sensor, not a MAF sensor. Sorry but the lack of knowledge and false info being given out is rediculous on this site.
chill out joe, it'll be ooookay... lol

This one alright mods?
that last one wasnt half as bad as others I've seen on here...
I know it's the IAT sensor, I just said that we don't have a MAF on our car, I didn't said LOOK AT THIS PIC, IT'S A MAP..... Maybe I didn't said it properly?
the sensor itself should fit in all the way, just like in the picture.
if the harness clip doesn't fit snugly into the sensor, and clips on, perhaps there's something stuck in there or one of the pins is bent.

If you re-use the rubber on your stock intake, I don't see why the IAT would be placed differently...
LMAO this thread sucks sooooooooo bad lol
OBD 2 cars? Two options: MAF (like a lot of fords and nissans and stuff). Big bulky sensor prone to malfunction frequently. OR MAP, involving the IAT sensor in the intake and the MAP sensor near / on the intake manifold. Much better setup in my opinion.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
FYI if everything is hooked up properly the code will eventually clear itself if you don't feel like losing your stereo presets.
I had a CEL after installing my header till I got everything really tightened down and the downpipe welded to the cat. Driving home in about 10 minutes the code cleared itself.
This is an 03 Eco so your results may vary.

why would I re-ruse the stock rubber????
your picture is nothing like the way mines set up...
AEM gives you a new rubber elbow to put over the throttle body and then the intake lines up with the rubber elbow and clips on where you can screw the holder in place...
now I took out the stock AIT holder and i'm trying to push it into the @!#$ hole, but I guess i'm not strong enough force threw the rubber O-ring that AEM provides to go around the entrance of the AIT hole..........
If I had my digicam and it wasn't broken I would take a pic... but w/e... i'll keep trying to force this @!#$in' piece threw the rubber...

You need to take the actual sensor out of your old intake. You are trying to shove a plug into your intake without the sensor on it, you need to find the sensor on the intake, pull it out and put it in the hole in your intake then plug the plug in. After that pull your negative battery cable off, turn your key to the on position and pump your brakes 3 times. This should reset your ECU. If you don't want to do that then just drive your car and after you start it a certain number of times the CEL will go off.
I know I took off the plug on the other part of the into.... i'm trying to fit the while peice AIT unclipped threw the rubber which is around the hole .. It's such a tight fit and i'm having trouble pushing in threw....

It doesn't have to go all the way through, it stops at a certain point which should be noticable. I have had to mess with it multiple times and never had a problem getting it in. Try holding the rubber while pushing down so it doesn't slip
ya I got it.. thanks guy for your help...
