Hey I just bought a cold air intake and I am fairly new to moding cars but I was just wondering if there is anything else I need to install the intake as far mounting or sensors, etc. any help would be much apprieciated.
If Its a true cold air intake just make sure you have a water bypass valve cause nothing sucks worse then sucking water into the engine.

Don't bother with what he said, some people like to go mudding in the swamp, for all the rest of us, theres no need for the bypass.
All you need to hook up is your VAC sensor, and your IAT sensor, typically, both run into the intake tube, but I dont know what intake you got because you didnt fill out your registry, so it might not in your case.
The reason I saod that was if you run thru a big ass puddle. Around here some of the roads tend to go under water when it rains hard so I was only recomending insurence thats all. This is the reason I don't have one. If you don't have a big puddle problem where you are then you shouldn't need it. But I always tend to go the BETTER SAFE THEN SORRY route but thats just me. OH and dont go thru and mud holes!

well i personally dont have a bypass valve and have driven through several heavy rain storms and have had no probs.. i have the step by step instructions with pictures that i got w/ my AEM CAI if u would like me 2 e-mail it 2 ya!! the instructions helped out a lot tellin me where every bolt was an stuff ....but mine is for the 03-05 ecotec..go luck!

Check your local tuner shops they can probly help you out. Or go on line.

AEM is the only company to trust for a bypass valve, if you want one to work properly. My air filter is less than 6" from the ground and I've never had any problems driving through heavy storms... and I don't have one.

When you but your cold air intake on did you have put it in from under the car?
I had the Bypass and it's Sh!t- The foam surrounding litterally deteriorates to nothing in 2 months right down to the rubber- Save your $50 and put it towards a Header or motor mounts.
How did you get yours in I cannot seem to get it in. I have my wheels turned all the way to the left and still cannot get it. Did you guys struggle with it?
Did you put it in from the bottom?
I followed the instructions that came with mine... basically remove the wheel well liner, remove the bong (snake looking thing), remove battery, move fuse box out of the way, remove stock air box fight with metal tube to get it in right, connect to the plastic pipe from the TB using the bypass valve or rubber cuppler then attach the filter. Then replace the Clutch resivour (use zip ties or spend $20 for the AEM bracket), fusebox, battery and wheel well liner.

That's about it... now this was the 1st CAI that I installed, and it took me about 2 hours (yeah, I'm slow). But with my old car, it took me 20 minutes to install the K&N Typhoon.

What kind of cai is it? What's the brand name, or is it a ebay special? Knowing what it is would help us. It should just bolt right in though, where your stock unit is.
It is aem the guy took it out of his car but could not find the instructions.
