Well after almost 3 weeks of crap with exhaust its finaly done ! The first place that did such a horrible job as you may recall WAS a friend of mines shop called Extreme exhaust and muffler. God did they butcher it ! When you'd look at the car from the side the exhaust looked like a roller coster and leaked too. I asked him to re-do it and he said no, so I went to his compition almost right accross the street from him

Bet that pissed him off huh? Anyway the job that was done by Marvins Muffler on Ritchie Hwy
is awesome !! 2 1/2 inch from the header to the duel mufflers PERFECT !!! It looks like a work of art. And the sound, GREAT !! No leaks no rattles, no squeekes, nothing
at all but perfect straight pipe that looks as good as it works.
If anyone needs any exhaust work done at all this is deffinantly the place to come.
heres there info. Marvins Muffler Works 6027 Richie hwy Balto. Md 21225

BTW the whole job from header back ran me $250.00. I supplyed the cat, res, & mufflers with tips.

we should all celebrate at your place!
...congrats, jack. funny, you and i seem to go trhu similar stuff. just had my header back system installed by a "friend", and the m.f. did a piss poor job too. the muffler has a cheap support and is hanging too low, ...and well, a buncha other stuff im gonna bring back to him. why cant people take more pride in their work?
well, congrats, man, enjoy the new system.
...don't hate!.. respect people that have talent, even if it is in something you don't like or understand.
Inari Great idea party at my place this friday!!!

they do, it's just not good quality work to take pride in lol. jackalope it sounds like a nice setup. might i ask why you went with 2.5 over 2.25? I see in your registry that you are considering 3" exhaust in the future. You do know that a 3" exhaust will absolutely kill your performance unless you are running heavy amounts of forced induction (in excess of 12 psi)
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
Actualy Spotabee it was your advice I took in NOT doing a 3 inch exhaust system. I plan on boost ( when ever G.M. starts selling it ) But I'm not going that high. Probly no more then 6 - 8 psi should do the trick nicly. I figure the 2 1/2 inch is the best compromise I could make between when I'm boosted and now. And I sure haven't noticed a drop in anything thats for sure !! This thing screams to 7 grand now like nothing at all !! And
pulls its ass off !! All and all it runs great. I just can't wait for the supercharger and new cams. That should be FUN

Oh it will be fun. Whenever you do get boosted, keep in mind that a 3" exhaust is huge lol. And I wouldn't run a 3" without 8 psi, forced induction cams, and head work.

Oh I know 3 inch is huge I had duel 3 inch exhaust on my old Firebird and it was awesome. But I'm planning boost, cams, and head work so my 2 1/2 should be fine right?

glad to hear things worked out better this time
and im guessing your gonna be running the gm s/c , unless gm changes the pulley to a larger 1 you should see close to 10 psi
ive got the gm proto type s/c on my cav and im still running a full 2 1/4" , and i dont have plans to change it
youll love the s/c when you get it though , ive got 1 for the g/fs cav , still collecting parts for it
must be nice to have it all completely done finally! I've been working on my exhaust for 2 months now and everytime I have the money to finish it, my fiance starts bitching about me spending money on the car and I then have to spend it on something else. Women can be frickin' aggravating!
NUB QUESTION
whats the stock size exhaust for the 2200 ? like 1 inch =)
it's 2" crush bent....very restrictive.
Route 2 you say?
$250, did that include tax and everything?
And they did it all in one day?
Man, I would like to get my exhaust set up, but I"m parting out my car right now.

Remember....syringes go in the RED waste basket.
Yup Rt. 2 Richie Hwy. I brought them the cat, res, and mufflers with tips and they put it all on for $250.00 on the car and out the door. I love it the car runs soooooo much better. I don't know why G.M. didn't just do it this from the factory.

no sound clips? I don't believe you then.

Dude I can't even figure out how to post a pic what in THEE hell makes you think I could post a sound clip? But since you doubt me ask alex he gave me the header or after this weekend you can ask Kim as she'll see it in person or your could ask Nikki she's supposed to be down at my house too and she'll see it in person as well. hey but if I can get any of them to bring a camera I'll at least have pics.

I don't mean to steal this thread, but if I were to buy a Header for me Ecotec, how would I put the catalytic converter back on? It's all attached, so would I have to run without it, and if I did, would that be legal? Also, I know Magnaflow sells catalytic converters, so could I buy one of those, and if so, would I have to have it welded, or is it a bolt on? I know it's full of questions, but I"m just a noob trying to make his car go vroom a little more.
Chris do you know the word custom???

welding required and a hole with a nut to put the O2 back on.
